Mobile Breast Care Center by Charlotte Radiology

Miss A PinkValentine’s Day is coming up and when I think of this day I think of love and I even think of pink. You know what else makes me think of love and pink? Charlotte Radiology’s Mobile Breast Care Center. Pink because most forms of breast awareness is typically signified with a very bright pink color, and love because if you love yourself you’ll see that you’re important enough to get screened.

  • Women 40 years and older should get a mammogram every 1 to 2 years.
  • Women who have had breast cancer or other breast problems or who have a family history of breast cancer should speak with their doctor about when to start and how often they should have a mammogram performed

Although Breast Cancer hasn’t been a part of my immediate life I have seen the effects and even mourned their passing. Breast Cancer Awareness has always been a huge weight on my heart, and now that I have two little girls it’s even more important to me.Recently, the girls and I got to go check out Charlotte Radiology’s Mobile Breast Care Center. As soon as we drove past it to park I couldn’t help but notice it. In fact, you probably wouldn’t be able to miss it, in a good way. See:

Traffic Cones at Mobile Breast Care CenterWe learned so much, and I’m really glad that Miss A was so inquisitive. Did you know that 1 in 8 women are effected by breast cancer? Charlotte Radiology had these beautiful pink traffic cones, 7 of them to be exact and one white one to signify the 1 that is diagnosed with breast cancer. That statistic makes me even more grateful for my health and those closest to me. I love that the white traffic cone makes us think of those who aren’t as fortunate.

We had a great tour of the bus, which has a lot more space than I had anticipated. With a nice waiting room, two changing rooms (not spacious, but totally do the trick), and a large exam room the Mobile Breast Care Center is more than well-equipped for doing what it’s meant for, giving women an opportunity to make time for what’s important.

A few of my personal favorite touches were the great staff that was on hand that day, who really care about the cause and are professional as well, and the handicapped accessibility of the Care Center. They had a great ramp that went directly to the exam room.
