Miffy Product Line – Walmart Exclusive

As a brand ambassador for Miffy I am excited to bring you news and exciting updates on all things related to the brand. I am not paid for my opinions.

Friends, today is a great day, not only because it’s another day to celebrate life, but also because Miffy’s exclusive product line with Walmart has launched.

If you’ve been watching Miffy on Nick Jr. or have checked out her books you’ll know just how adorable and delightful she and her friends and family are.

If you’re not familiar with Miffy, she was “born” on June 21, 1955. Why are you just now hearing about her? Well she grew up in the Netherlands and recently came to the United States via Nick Jr. “Miffy’s Adventures Big and Small,” debuted on Nick Jr. in 2016 and you can watch the show Monday through Friday {check your local listings}.

Miffy stories are now translated into more than 50 languages and the TV show currently airs in several countries across the world, so not only is she sweet and wholesome for our kiddos, but she’s universally age-appropriate.

My girls, though a little bit older, thought the Miffy toys were super cute.

Miffy’s Adventures Big and Small plush Miffy includes a super soft miffy. Press her hand for several phrases and a special Miffy song. Ages 18 months and up.

Miffy’s Adventures Big and Small figurines include Daddy, Snuffy, Miffy, and Mummy, and is appropriate for ages 2 years and up.

These and more items can be found both in stores and online. Head here: walmart.com to find out more information and make your purchase.

NEW Pampers Easy Ups Toddler Unboxing

“This post and giveaway were made possible by iConnect and Pampers Easy Ups. I was compensated for my participation in this campaign, but all opinions are 100% mine.”

Messes, accidents, and sometimes arguments!

Bet you wouldn’t guess I was describing the process of going from diapers to underwear for some families.  Transitioning into underwear is a big deal for every toddler and it’s a big deal for parents too. Let’s face it, the potty training journey can be a long one, so why not let Pampers make it a little easier.

We love Pampers and I’m always amazed at the innovative ways they improve their products to help families. The New Pampers Easy Ups are no exception. They fit like underwear with their 360 degree stretchy waistband, feel like underwear, look like underwear {with some really cool character graphics} and give your child the same great leak protection.

What’s App-enning Spring Series

MommyB What's App-enning Series

If you don’t know it’s Spring by the beautiful budding plants or baby animals scurrying around (you don’t have scurrying baby animals near you?!?!), then you certainly know it’s Spring by the clouds of pollen in the air. But there are no complaints here (not many at least), because I’d rather have pollen than snow in the Spring.

If you’re not outside playing in the awesome weather, like if you’re waiting for your allergy shots at the doctor’s office, or traveling for a weekend family getaway, you may want to consider some of the following apps for the kiddos and one for parents too.

Here are my What’s App-enning Spring App Picks:

Preschool Penguin – $2.99

Preschool Penguin App

Preschool Penguin is great app for children ages 3-5 that offer quick mini games that involve colors, numbers, and fun. This app has great animation and also offers videos as intermission/rewards for children playing. The game does not have an end which is good for continued play, however if you have a smart child they may tire quickly of this repetitive game and not be challenged. Overall I think this is a great learning app for little ones.

More info: PixelPlayApps.com

Champs of Numeria – $0.99

Champs of Numeria App

Champs of Numeria is a math app made for children ages K and up depending on what setting you select. At first I couldn’t figure out how to play Champs of Numeria, but luckily they have an in-app tutorial to help. I would highly recommend using this feature before your child begins playing. I think the game has a great idea but some of the numbers are a little harder to interpret since they are shapes rather than numbers. Once your child recognizes the different numbers this game can be quite addicting {in a good way.} I think this is a good math game, plus you can’t beat the price.

More info: Evanced Games

YAKiT Kids – FREE

YAKit Kids App

We all need some mindless entertainment once and a while and YAKiT Kids definitely provides that. This app allows your kiddos to take a iPhoto and make it fun. Choose from face settings, record voices, and let the hilarity ensue. If you want guaranteed giggles definitely upload this free app from YAKit Kids. Warning: they also have a similar app for adults.

More info: YAKiT Kids

Yummiloo Rainbow Power – $1.99

YummiLoo Rainbow Power App

I love this game and so do my girls. Honestly I’m not sure exactly why we like it so much. It could be the adorable characters, the fact that it encourages healthy eating and gardening, or that it’s nicely animated. This game features a garden with veggies and fruits and your objective is to pick the color of the rainbow in order to power up the Rainbow Machine. Once your kiddos play for a while the game becomes really short, but my girls will play this over and over again. Depending on your child however they may tire of the game after 5 or more times of play. I still highly recommend this app, if it were a higher price point however I may have to rethink the purchase, even with those cute carrot eyes staring at me.

More info: Yummiloo Rainbow Power

Parents: Momentage – FREE

Momentage App

If you’re into taking photos with your iPhone, iTouch and iPad this app offers a variety of ways to showcase your images, organize your images, and share them as well. I use Instagram often and think this is a great way to create moments through using my images. Think of it as virtual scrapbooking in an app. I would definitely recommend this app to parents, plus it’s free so other than storage space, what have you got to lose?!?!

More info: Momentage App

What’s your kid’s favorite or your favorite app right now?

This is not a compensated post, however I did receive some of the apps for review purposes only. All opinions expressed above are my own honest thoughts. Your opinions may vary.

Meet the NEW Wiggles Cast Premiering on Sprout

While watching Sprout this morning, {yes we deviated from our usual Disney Junior, but since it’s summer we needed a little change up in our viewing} I spotted the new Wiggles Cast. Another parent had mentioned to me a few weeks back that there was a new cast, but I hadn’t heard anything before then.

Right before my eyes I spotted only one original Wiggle member (although some of the other cast members have remained), Anthony. In case you weren’t familiar with the Wiggles, Anthony is the blue wiggle who loves food. In this video from The Wiggles Website, all four original cast members explain to their fans about the changes, check it out:

After 21 years of performing it seems like most of the cast has decided that it’s time to hang over the reigns and let some younger members jump around, sing and make children happy.

I personally loved the original Wiggle cast, and even followed along when Greg was replaced by Sam due to health reasons. I think however, that The Wiggles brand has got it right, they respectfully are acknowledging the changes to cast and passing the torch, unlike the character changes in Fresh Beat Band, that seemed to cause quite the commotion.

Here’s the new Wiggles lineup:

The New Wiggles Cast

Lachlan Gillespie, aka Lachy, the new Purple Wiggle who has been with The Wiggles production in a variety of roles including Captain Feather Sword on the Dorothy the Dinosaur Traveling Show, and in The Wiggles tour as both a Wiggly Dancer and Wags the Dog.

Simon Pryce, the new Red Wiggle has been one of the main voice artists on Wiggles’ albums and has performed with The Wiggles, playing the role of Ringo the Ringmaster.

And last but not least, Emma Watkins, the new Yellow Wiggle, who is obviously a female Wiggle, the first full-time female Wiggle. Emma has appeared on the Wiggles since 2010 starting her career as Fairy Larissa and later performing as Dorothy the Dinosaur, Wags the Dog, and as a Wiggly Dancer.

To read more about the NEW Wiggles Cast Members, head to the Wiggles website here: http://www.wiggletime.com/thewiggles/announcement-meet-the-next-generation.htm

These new Wiggles will appear for the new season of The Wiggles Ready, Set, Wiggle! on Sprout starting August 19, 2013 at 4:30pm and every Monday through Sunday at 4:30pm.

What do you think about the changes?? Who was your favorite original Wiggle??

Baby B'air

PACK IT UP: This multipurpose GoGo Babyz Sidekick Bliss Diaper Bag offers more than meets the eye! This diaper bag also serves as a has a handy insulated snack bag, changing pad, and is a baby carrier. Not to mention that there are a bunch of side pockets and interior and exterior pockets that are great for bottles or sippy cups and other storage.

For a diaper bag, the Sidekick Bliss is a little on the smaller side, but I love the fact that it does so many jobs and I don’t have to carry the baby carrier with me in addition to a diaper bag. You can carry a child up to 35lbs safely using the Sidekick Bliss. {And Dads won’t mind carrying it either since it’s not girlie at all.} This is definitely a larger ticket item but if you’re up for splurging a little or going in on this gift with a few other friends it’s a steal for $120. Find it and a few other styles on their website: http://www.gogobabyz.com

Healthy Resolutions for Kids {Giveaway}

Have you made resolutions for yourself, perhaps to live a better, healthier life? Do you make family resolutions? How about resolutions for your children? My girls are still pretty young, but there are things I hope, dream, and pray for them this year. I want Miss A to do well in school, I want Lil C to flourish as her own individual, and of course I hope that they are both loving, caring people who think of others, among many, many other traits and values.

In general, my girls are pretty healthy when it comes to eating, being active, and overall health, which we are very blessed by. However, there are always improvements we like to make to continue to give them the best lives possible, and I’m guessing if you’re still reading this post, you may have a special child(ren) in your life that you care about as well.

Here are some of my personal tips that I’ve used to encourage health in my girls lives and also some that we will begin to implement and work on.

Get Active!

Whether you participate or not {strongly recommended}, take your kiddos to the park, enroll them in sports classes, go for a family hike. It’s great for them physically, but also builds confidence, if done in a group encourages social growth, and makes them happier *see endorphins.

Fun with Food MommyB

Enrich their Lives

Give your child opportunities to volunteer, and learn about a senese of community. Visit museums and historical landmarks. Let them express themselves through art, dance, writing, help them find their best means of self-expression and celebrate it!

Healthy Kids MommyB

Make Healthier Choices

Trade out treats for fruits, hide veggies where the kids will least expect it, and make sure your children get plenty of hormone-free calcium. Since Lil’ C was 1 year old we’ve been trying to get her to drink milk, any kind of milk, soy, almond, chocolate, and used every trick in the book, we’ve given it a few months and just last night at dinner, because “sissy” LOVES milk {and if I could caps the LOVES even bigger I would, I have not seen a child who enjoys milk more than Miss A} we offered Lil’ C a medicine cup of Smart Balance® Kids Milk and she drank it! Baby steps!!! In the long run we’ve seen our girls make healthier choices on their own and hope they continue to have the desire to be healthy in all aspects of their lives. {See left photo, “Save a turkey! Eat a brocolli”, even though it’s not exact spelling, I was happily surprised to see this come home with Miss A.}

Holiday Gift Guide Featuring Fisher Price’s Servin’ Surprises™ Kitchen & Table

Fisher Price Piece of Cake

MommyB Knows Best's Family Gift GuideReady for another Holiday Gift Guide feature???

I’m not sure how you and your family celebrate Christmas, but we do things a little different here in the B household. In short, we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ number 1. We select several opportunities to serve in our own community and donate all over the world with various programs instilling a sense of gratitude and servitude in our girls. We also tell Miss A and Lil C about St. Nicholas and the facts that we know about him as a person.

When it comes to gift giving we give modestly {in our own opinion} to family and the girls. They get a few gifts from us and other family members, and open gifts from each other on Christmas Eve. We also have gifts that we call, “St. Nicholas gifts”. These are “bigger gifts” that we assemble or leave unwrapped. Each girl gets one St. Nicholas gift each Christmas.

When I learned more about Fisher Price’s Servin’ Surprises™ Kitchen & Table, I knew that would make a GREAT St. Nicholas gift. It was pretty easy to put together all by myself, it took maybe 20 minutes or 25 if you include me running downstairs to get the batteries {which do not come with the play set itself.} Note to parents buy at least 6AA batteries for this set before you put it together/give it as a gift!!!

servin-surprises-kitchen-table-b-1

This gift is one that you may want already assembled for your little one to play with right away. It’s a really cool toy, that kids can use to enhance their imaginative play, be silly, and have some fun singing and dancing too. I enjoy the fact that the table has different height settings and is so versatile in general.

Fisher Price Servin' Surprises Collage

We can turn the table top accessories over and one side we’re cooking up a storm and the other side we can work on craft projects or just pretend to eat the yummy meal we just slaved over the toy stove for.

The “magic” serving tray brings role play to life for kids when it recognizes the food they’re serving with songs and different phrases like “Who wants pizza?” or “Mmmm, cookies!” There are also songs to teach kids about manners and clean up.

Best of all, being the type-a mom that I am and loving tidiness and order, the table has a cool “hidden” storage compartment for EASY clean up, no excuses young ones!

Today is my birthday so the girls even made me a Servin’ Surprises™ birthday cake, how sweet!!!

Fisher Price Piece of Cake

The Fisher Price’s Servin’ Surprises™ Kitchen & Table includes table with convertible stovetop, removable oven and “magic” serving tray, 4 slices of pizza with toppings & pizza cutter, 4 cookies with cookie sheet, 2 place settings: forks, spoons, cups & plates.

Want to add more to the menu? Bring other items like ice cream, birthday cake or kabobs to the Servin’ Surprises™ Kitchen & Table for more songs, more phrases, more delicious fun!

The Fisher Price Servin’ Surprises™ Kitchen & Table retails for around $70.00 making it a decent sized gift. Check it out here: www.fisher-price.com.

What are some “big” gifts you’ve given your children??

I received the Fisher Price Servin’ Surprises™ Kitchen & Table to review and give you an honest opinion of the product. The above thoughts and opinions expressed in this post are my own, yours may vary, but I encourage you to check it out for your child if age appropriate.

Which is why I want to introduce you to the Smart Balance Kids “family”.

MommyBKnowsBest Smart Balance Kids Milk

Smart Balance® Kids Transitions Whole Milk & Nutrient Blend is featured in the red carton and is best for kiddos age 12-24 months.  Many pediatricians recommend whole milk as children transition from formula or breast milk to regular milk. Smart Balance Transitions delivers all the goodness of whole milk, and select nutrients for a strong nutritional foundation during this critical period of development.

Two glasses a day deliver:

  • DHA & EPA Omega-3s: to support brain & heart health

  • Prebiotics: to support normal digestion
  • Iron: for healthy growth & development

Next you’ll find, Smart Balance® Kids Reduced Fat Milk & Nutrient Blend in the blue carton, which is best for children ages 2 years and up. This milk is great for active growing kids. As you may know, many pediatricians recommend that children switch from whole milk to reduced fat milk after 2 years of age.

And for a treat, or the kiddos who prefer a little chocolate, Smart Balance® Kids Chocolate Low Fat Milk & Nutrient Blend appropriately in the brown carton.
This milk delivers all the goodness of regular 1% milk, and select nutrients for active, growing kids…..in a taste kids love, chocolate!!

I Count on Carter’s because Quality Matters {Giveaway}

Does your child have a special lovey or a favorite outfit that they adore?? For us, Miss A has, “bunny”. Bunny is Miss A’s best friend. Bunny has been with A before she was born and she still sleeps with bunny too. Miss A has taken Bunny on some special trips, doctor’s visits, and even her first haircut.

A Haircut Bunny

Miss A loves Bunny so much that her first birthday party theme was based on her bunny AND we ordered a cake that looked just like her.

Bunny Cake Collage MommyBKnowsBest

In fact, I still remember the day I bought Bunny at a local Carter’s store. In fact, I bought two bunnies because another mom I know recommended that we have more than one lovey in case one was in the wash or we lose one, {which I always recommend to other moms now too}.

Just as we’ve been able to count on Bunny to be there when there are bumps, scary situations, and to help Miss A sleep, we’ve counted on Carters for well-made clothes that last, adorable styles and fun fashion, great varieties of pieces to mix-and-match, and affordable prices {not to mention awesome sales.}

Childhood. It’s chock-full of the unexpected. But, from their first cry to their first class, there are certain truths every parent can count on…for example, socks will come and go…but mostly…they’ll go. They love swimming, but hate baths. On any given day, she’ll have more wardrobe changes than a Broadway musical. There are just some things you can always count on. And, thankfully, Carter’s is one of them.

Being a mom is one of the most rewarding experiences. Be among the first to see the digital premiere of Carter’s latest TV commercial, and click share if you agree that when a child is born, so is a mom. Click here: Count on Carter’s to watch the commercial {and have tissues at the ready, if you’re anything like me you’ll need them.}

It’s no surprise that since our girls have grown up with Carter’s products, including some adorable outfits, that we’ll be shopping at Carter’s for their holiday dresses. We love shopping at Carter’s because our girls can both get something to wear that will match or compliment and work great for our Christmas photo {too bad they don’t have mommy and daddy sized clothes.}

Here are some of my favorite pieces from Carter’s Holiday line:

This is most likely the dress I’ll get them, but it’s so hard to choose. Isn’t it sweet?!?

Carter's Red Holiday Dress

and you can’t forget super cute accessories to go with those pretty outfits, like these velvet bows:

I didn’t want to leave the boys out either, although I don’t have one they have some adorable pieces to complete the perfectly styled little guy. See!!

Carter's Holiday Boys outfits

Just in time for the holidays, Carter’s is excited to introduce their new holiday rewards program for in-store purchases. Earn a $10 holiday rewards card for every $50 you spend in store. The $10 reward is printed on the bottom of your receipt. To redeem, the coupon must not be detached from the original receipt. This limited time offer is a great way to shop and save this holiday season. Reward can be redeemed through December 29, 2012.

Find a Carter’s Store near you: Carters.com to get your shop on and “Like” Carter’s on Facebook/follow Carter’s on Twitter to discover the latest great deals, exclusive events and offers for your little ones!

In honor of this awesome sale I’m giving one lucky MommyB Knows Best reader a chance to win a $50 Carter’s Gift Card to shop for some great holiday clothes, fill in some wardrobe necessities, or even give away as a gift to a friend or family member. Good luck and enter here:
