Nonetheless, my poor girls’ skin has already been effected by their seasonal eczema. I love this time of year for so many reasons but the cold, itchy, weather is not one.

I recently found out that Carmex has a skin care line. I am always looking for new products to try out on the girls’ skin to help with their dryness, so this came at the perfect time.

I started off trying their Healing Lotion, which is a daily moisturizer that contains aloe & vitamin E. I love the smell because it smells like Carmex Lip Balm, but not overwhelming. I was a little nervous about application because the cream felt a little oily as I put it on the girls and for a few seconds after, but oddly enough it actually feels silky smooth after it soaks into the skin.

For my girls mild eczema the Healing Lotion was just not enough to keep them scratch-free for too long, so we tried out Carmex’s Healing Cream. The Healing Cream has nine ingredients that are made specifically to soothe really dry, rough skin. This cream also has the cool non-greasy {after a minute} feel and awesome Carmex light scent. We used this on the girls right after bath and apply whenever they are feeling itchy. I feel like it definitely helps control a little bit of the discomfort, but may not be enough for their skin types. We’ve actually gone through our samples maybe double as fast as someone who may just have average dry skin, so we may be good candidates for the Healing Ointment. Yes, that’s right there’s another skin care product by Carmex. We haven’t been able to try it yet, but it sounds a lot like Aquaphor and other skin soothing ointments.

All in all we like these Carmex products and I will keep using what we have left and would probably buy the lotion/cream for myself, but will continue my search for a thicker, more long-lasting product for my girls.

Are you a parent to a child with sensitive skin? Whether it’s diaper rash, eczema, or sensitive skin that is triggered by any slight irritant it’s not easy knowing which products will help and which will make them worse. Happy Future, one of the few certified organic baby skin care lines, is one of the best options available.

Happy Future products are made with ingredients that have no nut derivatives, are paraben free, made without silicone, perfumes, or artificial coloring and even their packaging is recyclable. So not only good for baby but good for the Earth, who could ask for more? Me, I ask that their products also work, what are great, organic, Eco-friendly products if they don’t work?

I used Happy Futures Liniment Lotion (Diapering Lotion), Moisturizing Cream for Face & Body, Non-Rinse Cleansing Lotion, and Delicate Cleansing Gel Shower & Bath. Each product is hypoallergenic and dermatologist tested, so I felt safe trying them out on my own girls who suffer from different degrees of eczema, neither of which are extreme cases, but all-in-the-same it is something that bothers them, and something I want to make sure to take care of.

We found that bathing them every other day, (a good practice to have with kids who have Eczema anyway,) with the shower and bath gel followed up by the moisturizing cream and worked great at keeping the girls skin smooth and soft. In between baths the Non-Rinse Cleansing lotion came in handy and had a gentle non-medicinal smell so I didn’t mind using it throughout the day.

This is the first year we’ve taken Baby C swimming, it seems that the chlorine really irritates her girly bits, which is nothing we saw with Little Miss A, so needless to say the Liniment Lotion has come in extremely handy. The lotion is soothing {from what I can tell} and takes the red away, making baby and me {mommy} feel better. Wondering if any of you have ever had the same issue with chlorinated water.

Thanks to Happy Future I have products I can use on the girls and feel good about them being safe for their skin, resolving their skin problems, AND being good for the planet too. I encourage you to check them out for yourself, whether or not your child has a mild or severe problem I would highly recommend them.

Get your Happy Future products here: http://happyfutureusa.com and check out their other site here: http://babyfun.us

After being pregnant and now with the summer nipping at my heels, in just 3 days to be exact, I need a little skin boost, something to give my face some life and rejuvenation. After all once I hit 30, well just about every part of my body changed.

Being a new mom to two beautiful girls and busy with errands, activities, and blogging I don’t have a whole lot of time in my schedule for things just MommyB. Luckily, taking care of your skin doesn’t have to be time consuming or energy draining. I found Your Best Face Skincare or ybf and am loving the two products that I got to try out.

ybf Skincare was started by Darrell and Kimberely with the goal of making great products, and only through many years of dreaming, dollars, and determination did they reach this goal through their anti-aging skincare line. Even though I was only able to try out two of their products I can tell you I had a great experience testing them out.

Because my skin was feeling quite dull I tried out ybf’s Prep, which is a creamy brightening exfoliant that smoothes & refines and also reduces wrinkles, woo hoo! Prep smelled amazing and has white tea, vitamins e and B5 and olive leaf extract among a bunch of other ingredients. Just the smell alone was very calming for my skin. I loved the gentle exfoliating of prep and loved the feeling that all my skin’s tiredness was going to be washed away, (this was the nicest way I could say that the dead skin was being sloughed away.)

After using Prep I put on a thin layer of Restore. Restore is made up of advanced brighteners, vitamins and top antioxidants. It works to help even pigmentation, diminish dark spots and reduce inflammation for a refreshed look. Again, something I as a mom and I’m sure other mommies could really use. I love the easy application and the clean feel that this with YBF’s Restore gel.

Unfortunately, for me, and most women aging in our faces typically shows around the eyes, YBF also has a great line for lips and eyes worth checking out. If you want to have great looking, youthful skin, check out this sophisticated line. Visit their website for information on Prep and Restore or one of their other products here: http://www.ybf-skincare.com/

What tips or products do you use to keep your skin looking fresh?
