Awesome Kids Eat Free Deal & Giveaway

Disclosure: I’m proud to partner with O’Charley’s Restaurant + Bar for this opportunity. I am being sponsored to help lead this campaign, but all opinions expressed are my own, and all claims and details shared can be verified by O’Charley’s Restaurant + Bar.

I definitely owe O’Charley’s Restaurant + Bar a huge thank you for giving this mom a much needed break. As we prepared to get ready for school AND are the middle of a move, my mind has been in a bit of a haze. Remembering my to-do list, and making sure the girls have everything they need for school leaves me more forgetful than I like to be.

I am so thankful that O’Charley’s is offering, (in my opinion), one of the best Kids Eat Free promotions I’ve seen. We experienced this first hand when we headed to our local O’Charley’s one busy day before school started.

Kids Eat Free O'Charley's

In the midst of packing up school supplies and getting ready for Back-to-School night {where the girls would meet their teachers}, I decided it would make life so much easier to grab dinner out. The four of us headed to O’Charley’s to take advantage of their Kids Eat Free promotion.

The girls loved the kids menu selections and ended up with the #1 kid staple: pizza. DaddyB and I added a side of carrots (not included in Kids Eat Free deal) for each girl, and their drinks were included, of course they chose the pink lemonade.

Kids Eat Free O'Charley's MommyB

O'Charley's Kids Eat Free MommyB

For the adult meals, we could have gone the money saving route and ordered regular entrees, but since the girls ate free we decided to choose menu items that were on the pricier side {although all the meals were pretty affordable}.

I got the NEW Filet Mignon with Garlic Butter which was amazing and DaddyB chose the Fresh Cedar-Planked Salmon. He loved his dish just as much as I loved mine and of course the girls were very happy with their meals too.

The food was great the service was fantastic and during Back-to-School season, it is one less thing to worry about. I think it’s fair to say that we are all very thankful for this awesome promotion.

O'Charley's Kids Eat Free Promo MommyB

Whether you’re looking to save time (think not having to cook, or clean dishes) or money (for every one adult entree you receive one complimentary child’s entree) O’Charley’s is making it easy for families to dine-in during the back-to-school season. Make sure you head to your local O’Charley’s between now and September 5th to take advantage of this awesome deal.

O'Charley's Gift Card

Also as promised… I’m giving away one $50 gift card to O’Charley’s so not only can you get your kids meals free, but you can also treat yourselves as well.

How to WinComment between now and September 1st, 2016 with the entree you would like the most and the entree your child would like the most. If you’re feeling generous you can share this with your friends. All you need to do is be 18 years old and a U.S. Citizen.

O’Charley’s Back-to-School – Kids Eat Free Promotion

Disclosure: I’m proud to partner with O’Charley’s Restaurant + Bar for this opportunity. I am being sponsored to help lead this campaign, but all opinions expressed are my own, and all claims and details shared can be verified by O’Charley’s Restaurant + Bar.

School supplies shopping, Meet the Teacher, haircuts, doctor’s appointments, and the list goes on. Any of these tasks sound familiar as the 2016-2017 school year is about to begin? I know we have checked off some items on our to-do list, but have a few more things looming over us before the girls start their first day of 1st grade and 4th grade.

I love when companies understand parents, especially during hectic times like Back-to-School. O’Charley’s Restaurant + Bar is one of those brands, brands that are making it easier to make it through long days by offering Kids Eat Free now through September 5th.

Kids Eat Free O'Charley's

You may be thinking, “okay, so what, a lot of restaurants offer Kids Eat Free nights“, but this is not your average promotion. O’Charley’s is offering free kids meals to guests all day, every day during their promotion. The only “rules” are it’s dine in (of course) at participating restaurants and one free kid’s meal for children 10 and under with purchase of adult entrée.

The O’Charley’s kids menu offers a variety of choices from the more traditional dinner items like the Kid’s Burger or Cheese Pizza to more unique options like Mini Corn Dogs and Bite-Size Shrimp. This promotion is available at all O’Charley’s restaurants with the exception of the Nashville International Airport location.

Next time you’re out running errands or heading to Back-to-School events be sure to drop in to O’Charley’s for a quick bite without breaking the bank. For more details on the Kids Eat Free promotion, or to check out other food offerings, head to O’Charley’s website: Ocharleys.com

Diabetes Awareness Month Tips and Savings

This is a sponsored post in partnership with The Motherhood.

Did you know November is Diabetes Awareness Month?? According to the CDC, more than 29 million Americans have diabetes and even more that don’t know they have it. That’s a lot of people! If you aren’t personally affected by diabetes I bet you can think of someone who is.

I’ve seen people living with diabetes all my life.I grew up with a couple of children who had Type 1 diabetes and required an insulin pump and shots. In my own family, my mother had Type 2 diabetes {praise God has not been diabetic for years because of weight loss and healthier living}, and my father-in-law who passed a couple of years ago had diabetes that left him with several diabetes related conditions.

While it’s never something you want to hear that people have to live with, there are ways to modify your diet and supplements/medications that can help manage diabetes.

Diabetes Awareness Month Tips & Savings #ad

Teaching Children How to Help Others

Disclosure: This blog post was written for The Momiverse, pursuant to their engagement by brightpeak financial. All views expressed are entirely my own, and were not influenced or directed by either the Momiverse or brightpeak financial.

As I’ve mentioned before our family has a big heart for giving our prayers, time, and money to help the needs that others are experiencing. Whether they are right in our very own city or across the world, God has called us to share what He has given us and not limit it to one zipcode.

Teaching Children How to Help Others.jpg

Sponsored Child.jpg

I truly believe that showing our children how blessed they are in many ways with allow them to be more compassionate and empathetic adults. Those are qualities you can’t buy or teach from a book. Finding age-appropriate activities to help out causes we believe in is fairly easy, and so rewarding.

Most recently, we decided it would be a great idea to sponsor a child overseas. For us, we’re a semi-frugal family, we enjoy eating out, use coupons occasionally, and sell and shop consignment, however with our current bills we need to be mindful of our spending.

I know we were called to give to this little boy and his family and therefore we’ve sat down to discuss our spending habits and areas where we can cut back in order to be able to provide the donation amount we have committed to.

Here are a few ways we are saving:

– Spending less money on eating out by better meal planning

– Packaging snacks and drinks for travel instead of buying at rest stops

– Making homemade gifts for friends and family

– Using more coupons and rewards cards

– Researching kids eat free participating restaurants

I know these aren’t new ideas on how to save money, but I share our family’s efforts. If you have any suggestions that may work for us as well please feel free to leave a comment below.

In the meantime, I’d also like to tell you a little more about brightpeak financial. I love their slogan, “Live Intentionally, Learn Simply and Work Purposefully. We exist to help Christian families experience life’s journey with strength and generosity.”

They are in the business of helping people at every level of financial know-how. Topics covered on brightpeak financial’s website range from a guide to help you choose your child’s future guardian should something happen to you, {seriously something we all should be thinking about}, an article on fighting fair about money, {the number 1 thing that couples argue about}, and an entire category on money management and debt.

After navigating through brightpeak financial’s website, I found several really useful tips that I’ll be sharing with DaddyB to implement in our own family. Those tips will come in handy as we teach our girls how to help others by creating our own financial responsibility.

I am excited to share this information with you, and I truly hope you find it helpful as you look for articles and resources to help with your family’s finances.

Frugal Travel Tips with Amy Tara Koch

As a family we are making several different trips this year, from vacations to blogging conferences, and work trips and we’d like to save as much money as possible while doing it.

Recently, I had the chance to “pick the brain” of Amy Tara Koch, author, blogger, and travel aficionado. I was able to ask her about frugal travel tips, here’s our interview, enjoy and make sure you take notes!!

What frugal travel tips do you have to share?

This message brought to you in a partnership with Bank of America, this is not a sponsored post nor did I receive any compensation for this post, however I did think it would be good information to bring to you, my readers.

CVS/pharmacy presents ExtraCare Pharmacy & Health Rewards

So you may remember I had the opportunity to work with CVS/pharmacy and talk about their Pharmacy ExtraBucks Rewards program. If not, check out my video:

Back when the video first aired, there were only a few cities that were eligible to participate in the program, but as of February 1st, CVS/pharmacy opened this program up to the nation. The program has changed a little starting with it’s new name; ExtraCare Pharmacy & Health Rewards.

CVS:pharmacy Rewards

Here’s how it works:

  • Enrollment is easy. Shoppers can sign up today online at CVS.com/rxrewards
  • Pharmacy & Health ExtraBucks Rewards can be used like other ExtraBucks Rewards on most items in the store (see image above)
  • Shoppers must opt-in to this program to earn these new rewards, but can keep using their same ExtraCare card
  • Each person who joins can earn up to $50 Pharmacy & Health ExtraBucks Rewards each year
  • When participants receive their rewards, there’s no guesswork involved. Unlike complicated points-based programs where members get paid back in rewards they don’t understand how to use, ExtraCare members receive ExtraBucks Rewards.
  • These rewards are like “free CVS money” they can spend on most items in the store, so it’s super easy to redeem them online, in-store or via smartphone.

So if you like to shop at CVS/pharmacy and fill your prescriptions, why not sign up, there are no fees and no extra hassles. I know my red CVS/pharmacy ExtraCare card has saved me lots, plus I love getting my coupons at the ExtraCare Coupon center.

What do you buy the most from CVS/pharmacy? Prescriptions? Holiday gifts? Personal Care products??

This is not a sponsored post, however I have worked with CVS/pharmacy in the past. My family and enjoy saving money, and I wanted to pass this information down to you.

Smart Savings with ableBanking

ableBanking logo

Growing up in a lower middle-class, small town, I never understood the benefits to saving money, simply because we didn’t have that option. Now that I am an adult, now living with my family of 4 in the flourishing city of Charlotte, North Carolina, and extremely blessed financially not to live pay-check to pay-check or worse, I get it.

There are so many reasons to save money: college, building credit, paying off loans, making sure your family has funds if something happens to you, emergency account, trust funds for family members and the list goes on. There are also so many options when it comes to figuring out which bank to use for savings.

ableBanking logoWhen I heard about ableBanking, and the reasons they are different from other savings companies I knew it was something I wanted to at least share with you, my readers, so you have the information for your own research.

ableBanking is an online-only platform, so that means they spend less money having branches, office materials, and the usual bank branch costs and pass that savings along to you with better fees and rates. Not only do they help save more, but they also have a giving spirit lining their business model. {That’s my favorite part!!}

“From our very high interest rate to our charity focused customer base to our customer service – giving you the best experience possible is a task we take very seriously.”

Because ableBanking cares about the “bigger picture” they value both customers AND their communities. Each customer who opens an account with ableBanking receives $25 to donate to any charity (501c3), ableBanking also gives an annual donation of .25% of your annual balance too. {12 times more than one of the top banks in America.} It’s easy to donate and easy to track for tax deductions as well.

ableBanking Save

Did you ever think when considering savings options that it would be a decision you would feel good about both financially AND socially?? How cool is it that ableBanking gives a sense of giving back, what a great way to teach our families {and friends too} about contributing to charities and doing our part?!?

I encourage you to check out ableBanking on your own, do the research, check out numbers and see if they are a good fit for your savings needs. You can find more information at their website: http://www.ablebanking.com/, or chat with them on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/AbleBanking or call them 7 days a week at 1-888-426-2253

I’d love to hear your thoughts on savings, who you use {if anyone}, or if you decide to save with ableBanking!!

I received a charity donation in return for this post. The only reason I agreed to this post is because I think the concept is awesome and really like what ableBanking is doing, therefore the above opinions and words above are my own, honest opinions. As with anything your opinions may vary.

New CVS Pharmacy ExtraBucks Rewards Program Announced {Giveaway – CLOSED}

CVS Pharmacy ExtraBucks Rewards Logo

So remember when I was keeping a secret from you about a project I was working on with a National Brand??? Yeah, well this is it. I have had the awesome opportunity to work with CVS/pharmacy in an effort to help spread the word about their new Pharmacy ExtraBucks Rewards Program.

Long before I became a mom I had been a loyal CVS/pharmacy patron. When I was approached to work with CVS/pharmacy on this and other projects it was an easy choice for me to say, “YES”. I have been a huge fan of their rewards programs, including their ExtraBucks Rewards program and their Pharmacy ExtraBucks Rewards. I have personally racked up several ExtraBucks Rewards to use during my shopping excursions at CVS/pharmacy and know even more people who shop there and leave with bags of free goodies. With Miss A being in Pre-K that means that the whole family getting more sick this year, so that means we’ve used CVS/pharmacy’s prescription services more than ever, and so I say, “bring on the savings!!!!”

CVS Pharmacy ExtraBucks Rewards Logo

With more than 69 million active cardholders, CVS/pharmacy’s ExtraCare program is the largest and most popular retail rewards program in the nation! That definitely speaks for itself. In an effort to continue promoting smart, healthy decisions CVS/pharmacy is offering this NEW Pharmacy ExtraBucks Rewards program in the following select markets: Charlotte, Cleveland, Columbus, Oklahoma City, Minneapolis-St Paul, and Portland-Auburn (ExtraBucks Rewards for non-pharmacy purchases are still unlimited.)

I love this new prescription incentive program because it covers my entire family, doesn’t require me to do anything that I wasn’t already doing anyway, and it’s easy to sign up for.

Basically with Pharmacy ExtraBucks Rewards program you get even bigger rewards.*

  • Each enrolled member of your household who’s filling prescriptions at CVS/pharmacy is eligible for the program.
  • For every 5th prescription you fill at CVS/pharmacy, using your ExtraCare Card you get $5 Pharmacy ExtraBucks Rewards to use on most items in the store. {Vaccinations during flu season count too}
  • Each enrolled member of your household earns their own individual rewards for up to $50 Pharmacy ExtraBucks Rewards per year.

So for a family of 4, like ours, we can earn up to $200 Pharmacy ExtraBucks Rewards per year, that’s pretty awesome!!

*To sign up for Pharmacy ExtraBucks Rewards:
