Although I’m a very tiny speck compared to HUGE companies, I am such a rule follower, and would rather not get in trouble with my posting, so I’m moving the giveaway over here to my blog.

For those of you who’ve been waiting for the Holiday Gift Guide Giveaway it’s going on now so check out some of my favorite goodies!

I heard about this great line of “super-fruit” juices that tout calorie-conscious, low sugars, and healthy ingredients in a unique beverage. Now that I’m leaning towards clean eating  Bossa Nova fruit drinks sound like they would be a great addition to my drink selection.

In fact, after receiving samples of several flavors, Daddy B, and Little Miss A and I found out that these drinks are appropriate and healthy for the entire family to enjoy.We were able to try out 6 of the 10 flavors including; Açaí the original, Açaí with blueberry, Goji Berry with tart cherry, Acerola with mango, Açaí with mango, and Mangosteen with passionfruit.

My absolute favorite was the Mangosteen Juice with passionfruit. I am a huge fan of peaches and mangosteen is said to have similar flavor notes to that of peaches. The juice, in my opinion, was very flavorful but not too strong and didn’t taste healthy or organic, (you know what I’m talking about.) The description on Bossa Nova’s website says that mangosteen is often described as the world’s best tasting fruit and even Miss A totally agrees!

Daddy B also liked the taste of Acerola with mango and he was excited about getting in 20 times the amount vitamin c than in oranges at the same time and although we really liked a couple of these there were two that were just okay on our flavor scales. Daddy B thought that the Açaíthe original tasted a lot like medicine, but this was his very first Açaí experience anyway, I’ve heard Açaí alone can be an acquired taste. Miss A thought the Goji Berry with tart cherry was a little too tart for her refined palate, ha ha and it got a C+ from me, compared to the others we got to taste.

Overall, I was really impressed with the taste of the Bossa Nova fruit juices, but I was also blown out of the water when I found out the varying drinks contain ingreditents to help maintain a healthy cardiovascular system, boost your immunity, have anti-aging and body balancing properties and so much more!

I give Bossa Nova two thumbs up for making a great product at a reasonable price compared to juices in it’s category. We are definitely adding these to our fridge for not only the sweltering summer, but for all-year-round. My favorite part of the licorice chews are that Little Miss A likes them and I don’t feel guilty giving her sticky too sweet candy with hydrogenated oils and corn syrups and when she asks for more I’m okay with giving her another piece. She also enjoys the taste, just like her momma.

We decided to try out Peter Rabbit Organics fruit pouches. Now I’m not sure if you’ve seen these pouches around, but it seems like it’s becoming a big trend, food/nutrients in an easy-to-carry pouch. I’ve seen a few other kids products packaged the same way and even Gatorade is making a Pre-Game Fuel in the same manner.

I would give Peter Rabbit Organics a rating of good. I love that these packets are very easy to put in your diaper bag or in a lunch box without worrying about messes or taking up too much space. Two other great things about the packing are that they don’t need to be refrigerated before opening and after you open them you can reseal them with their screw cap, so you can refrigerate and save for later.  All the pouches are BPA free too, so you know this company is totally into health!

Aside from being convenient, these packets are filled with 100 percent organic fruits, no sugars or artificial ingredients. Peter Rabbit Organics come in three different flavors; Strawberry and Banana, Mango, Banana, and Orange, and Apple and Grape. Little Miss A and even Daddy B tried all three of the flavors, they weren’t too impressed with the flavor but they loved the applesauce like consistency. I am a huge fruit lover so I didn’t hate the taste, but it could have used a little more natural sweetener possibly.

I don’t give Miss A tons of sugary foods, but we also don’t eat everything organic or whole either. She said the Strawberry and Banana packet was, “Too Banana-knee.” I can see some children not liking the fruit snack at all because they aren’t used to it, but other more impressionable er, younger children may be more apt to fall in love with these snacks.

I thoroughly enjoy that it is a healthy snack and even in some cases a treat, being that the child gets to sip a snack from a cool pouch and wish that Miss A enjoyed them, and I may even try to get Baby C started on them before she has a taste for any sweeter versions.

In recent studies the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) significantly increased the recommended daily fiber intake standards, and recommend 25 grams of fiber per day for four-year-old children. Wow, that’s a lot of fiber to get into one child!

Little Miss A will eat whole wheat bread, the occasional broccoli, raw spinach leaves,(I know she likes it and I can’t believe it) and of course her favorite fruits, but still, trying to make sure she gets all the fiber she needs does worry me.

We had the opportunity to try out Pedia-Lax Fiber Gummies. They’re made by Fleet and for any of you that know the name know they’re pretty synonymous with being a good bowel cleaner (to put it nicely.)

Being a mom I want to make sure my children get their fiber not only to be healthy but also because I know that personally it helps them to be able to go #2 a lot easier. I’m sure most parents don’t want their children struggling at potty time either.We loved the penguin shapes and lots of fun colors in Pedia-Lax Fiber Gummies but did notice they were a good bit bigger than Miss A’s normal gummy vitamins. A loved the taste of the gummies but with taking her daily multi-vitamin I think it was a little much. Often times I have to persuade A to take her multi-vitamin alone much less other vitamins.

Regarding value, Be Nice is a great alternative to purchasing other vitamin-filled waters. Instead of buying the in-store products you can fill your water bottle at home and pour in your favorite flavor drink packet and get great benefits for a portion of the cost of commercial products.

Upon trying the Berrylicious alone I would recommend this product as a great source of vitamins, but only if you could stand the taste.
