Dora’s Christmas CD

Dora The Explorer is ringing in the Holidays with her fun CD, Dora’s Christmas. This holly, jolly CD features Christmas Classics like “Deck the Halls”, “Jingle Bells”, and “Feliz Navidad”. Also included on this snowy sensation are Bonus Tracks from Dora’s Holiday Movie Dora’s Christmas Carol Adventure. You’ll want to make sure Swiper doesn’t swipe this CD!
Along with fun tunes on this Sony Label album, kids will enjoy the great bonus content also on this disk. Bring fun wall papers, lyrics, and a Dora’s Christmas Carol mini video to life using a computer CD drive.
This CD’s insert features the usual song information, but also includes a festive Feliz Navidad/Christmas game board and pieces. For those of you not wanting to cut your insert please note there is a great printable version in the Bonus Content.
For those of you looking for the more traditional versions of well-known Christmas songs, you’ll have to look elsewhere. When I first listened to the CD with my daughter, I was expecting the songs to be the original version but of course sung by Dora.
Dora incorporates fun friends from her show into her songs relating to the kids who follow her show. Dora’s version of “Deck the Halls” mentions some of her best friends, “See Boots the Monkey jump before us. Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la Big Red Chicken joins the chorus. Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la.”
As expected Dora also includes great learning opportunities by including Spanish into many of the songs on this album including “Here Comes Santa Claus.”
“Here comes Santa Claus, Aquí viene Santa Claus, To visit me and my friends, Everyone’s waitin’, anticipatin’, As his sleigh comes round the bend. Bells are ringin’, Boots is singin’, All is merry and bright. So hang your stockings on Nochebuena, ‘Cause Santa Claus comes tonight.” I’d expect nothing less from this Hispanic sweetheart.
If your child is a Nickelodeon fan they will adore this exciting CD not only because it features voices from Dora the Explorer, but also friends from The Backyardigans, and Go, Diego, Go!
Kids will recognize the “Dora The Explorer Christmas Theme” which is a jingle bell filled version of the original Dora Theme song. Parents will love that it features the Young People’s Chorus of New York City.
After I got over my initial shock of the “Dora-fied” words, my daughter and I were dancing around the living room enjoying the upbeat song, “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree”. So if you’re like me you may want to listen to the album once through, sample it online, and once you buy it just have fun with your kids. Dora’s Christmas is a really fun CD for kids who love Dora the Explorer to be able to enjoy Christmas with singing, and silliness.

10 Things I Heart in Spring

10-Things-I-Heart-Spring

I decided that I would not write about Spring on my blog until it finally felt like Spring here in Charlotte, NC, however today, it’s going to be up in the 80s so I’m not sure if I’m allowed to write this considering the summer-like weather we are having. Then again, how can I not share with you things I’m hearting this Spring?!?!

Disneyland in the Spring MommyB
1. Traveling – Although we’re in the midst of packing for our move in June, we have been traveling a lot this Spring. We had the opportunity to visit Disneyland in California, where the weather was amazing and we had a BLAST! And we just returned from an amazing trip to Georgia where we visited the Georgia Aquarium and World of Coca-Cola (I’ll have trip reports on both soon!) Where have you traveled this Spring or where are you traveling to?

Build-a-Bear Spring2. New friends – We have been making lots of new friends this Spring! We recently started going to story hour at the church we’ve been attending and making new friends there AND in stuffed friend news, we got a new Spring Build-A-Bear friend who is an ADORABLE Soft & Sweet Lamb ($18) She has fluffy white fur that’s perfect for cuddling. Our little lamb is all dressed up for Spring and tea parties AND at Build-A-Bear you can also add scents so your furry friends smell oh-so-sweet, how cool is that?!?

3. Outside Fun – We are blessed to have a nice, flat, and decent size backyard so lately we’ve been spending a lot of time outside. If it’s nice out I’ll let Miss A do her homework outside and of course lots of chalk, bubbles, running, scooters/bikes, and water table play. How about you??

4. Spring Cleaning – I know this sounds soooo strange, but I really do love organizing and cleaning, even though these days I don’t have quite as much time as I’d like to do either. Luckily, the move gives me a great excuse to do a little bit of both. I’ve been trying out a few new cleaning products including some Method products and Nature’s Kloth.

We try to be a little more eco-friendly here and there and both of these products help. We’ve been using Nature’s Kloth instead of a sponge and replacing the way we clean with paper towels to create less waste. I love that it’s eco-friendly (biodegradable, washable over 300 times, made from cotton and plant fiber, and more) and is great for many uses inside and outside the house. I definitely feel better about cleaning when there isn’t a huge pile of used papertowels in my trash.

5. Healthy Kiddos – I am super thankful for healthy kiddos. Lately we’ve been pretty healthy especially considering that we’ve been flying and traveling a lot. We have a lot of friends who have not been so fortunate this Spring. For those uncomfortable fevers and painful colds and aches we give our girls Children’s Advil. For Lil’ C who does not do well with any sort of pain, this does the trick for us. I love that they have so many flavors (and dye-free versions) too since she doesn’t care for most medicine flavors. Plus, they have some fun activities and tips for parents on how to stay healthy.

Garden Lites Collage

We also love that our girls like healthy foods like Garden Lites. Miss A surprisingly enjoyed these gluten-Free, veggie muffins. They’re high in fiber, and low in fat. Miss A’s favorite flavor was: Zucchini Banana Chocolate Chip. They have loads more flavors and come in a box of 4 with an SRP of $3.99.

Lee Fashion Spring Capris

6. Spring Clothes!! – I love a good infinity scarf, especially the beautiful chevron one that one of my friends gave me for my birthday, but I really enjoy wearing comfy Spring clothes. I love wearing adorable maxi and sun dresses because they are so flowy and comfortable.

I am also loving the new Lee Spring collection that features bermuda shorts and capris that are comfortable while being dressy at the same time. If I need to dress up an outfit some of their capris and shorts come with adorable, fashionable belts as well. Here are a few of my other favorites from their collection:

Lee Spring Collection

7. Parties – I always love a good get-together and with the girls’ birthdays, holidays and end of school coming for us, Spring is always filled with fun parties and celebrations. We’ll have a small birthday get together for Miss A {since we went to Disneyland the girls aren’t getting their usual HUGE parties}, a class party for the end of the year {here’s an end of the year gift idea}, and loads of friends birthday parties.

Iesodo Video8. Good Message Movies – We were sent a couple of videos from Iesodo (pronounced Ya-Sa-Doe) that retells Bible stories with animated animals, mainly birds. My girls LOVED the videos and have been singing the catchy songs every day since we’ve watched them. We love sharing these videos with our friends because we know the language and content are appropriate for all viewers. Even if you have no religious affiliation, but want your children to learn good values, these videos promote wholesome character traits and morals and is good for children of any age.

9. Pasta Salad – Of course you can eat pasta salad anytime of year, but this is the season pasta salads shine! I really love cold, crisp salads with lots of veggies. What’s your favorite pasta salad recipe?

B girls with Genevive Goings Choo Choo Soul at Disneyland

10. Meeting Amazing People – Not that this is necessarily a Spring thing, but since we went to the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration, we were able to meet some pretty amazing people. One of our favorites though was Genevieve Goings from Choo Choo Soul with Genevieve.

Miss A says her favorite person/character she met the entire stay was Genevieve and we met a lot of people/characters so that says a lot. Of course we fell in love with Genevieve on Disney/Disney Junior with her Choo Choo Soul songs and realized she did more music for Disney as well as a round up of songs from Disney classic movies.

We’re excited to hear that her first Independent Children’s Album for pre-schoolers is called “Do You Know?” and releases June 3, with the first single “My Telephone Number Is” available NOW on iTunes. The album focuses on learning key fundamentals with Genevieve’s unique brand of “Kids Music with Soul.” I got an exclusive preview of the songs on her new album and wow!

My girls love to dance and sing and they get that from their mommy, this is one album you will not be able to contain the dancing. Our favorite songs are: “My Telephone Number Is” {great for helping your child learn your phone number, a MUST}, “Inside Voice” {which is rockin’ and rowdy in the best possible way and teaches kids when and where to use their inside/outside voice} and surprisingly, “Gotta Do My Business” {a potty song with swagger}.

I love when kids music is both appropriate and enjoyable and Genevieve definitely accomplishes that with the album. I can’t wait to buy a copy for our family and give one away on the site along with a few other goodies! In honor of Spring, I’m giving away a $25 Build-A-Bear gift card, 2 copies of Iesodo DVDs (Faith and Love) and once it’s available on June 3rd, a copy of Genevive Goings’ new album.

Valentine’s Day Gift Guide for Dads

I received products in this post to give my personal opinions and recommendations on. This is not a paid post and are my honest thoughts.

Still looking for a perfect gift for the special dad in your children’s lives? I found some gifts that are a little different, but still good choices to show him you love him this Valentine’s Day!

Valentines Day Gift Ideas for Dads

Want to get your guy something other than jewelry but something that he can carry with him every day? Isabella Grace Jewelry has some pretty cool things for men including this Super Dad keychain. This key chain is pewter, not so big it’s clunky {just the right size}, and has an awesome saying on the back that will melt your kids’ hero’s heart. Check it out: Super Dad Key Chain

Got a science-loving daddy? I really loved how cool and unique this t-shirt is. If you look at the “elements” you can see different phases of fatherhood, great for a proud dad to display. I know DaddyB will love wearing this shirt. Check it out: Periodic Tee of Daddy Elements

Whether you are expecting your first child or the dad in your life is a pro-daddy, Daddy Scrubs has a product to shout out that your man is a father. My favorite part of these shirts is the tagless reminder that, “Anyone can be a father, but it takes someone special to be a Daddy!” Check it out: Daddy Shirts

Last but not least, for the music loving dad, we heart Jabra products!! DaddyB is a huge fan of all kinds of music and even listens to quite a few podcasts. This Jabra Solemate mini is perfect for dads to take to work, put in the garage, or out in wilderness. This wireless speaker is splash and dust resistant, durable, and pumps out quality sound. The Perfect “Mixed” Couple #TargetWedding

Thank you Target for sponsoring this post.

Last month we were blessed to be able to attend the wedding of one of DaddyB’s cousins.

We were so excited to see this awesome couple get married. They both have really fun personalities and splashes of their whimsy trickled into their wedding too. This photo says it all:

This couple definitely represents the motto, “Be Yourself, Together“. The bride works at a school surrounded by children all day, loves her friends and family, and from the looks of their Target Wedding Registry enjoys baking too! The groom on the other hand, works with luxury cars, enjoys poetry, and can be found making music mixes.

While they’re not completely different {or exactly the same for that matter}, they are a GREAT compliment to each other and their love is apparent through the way they interact with one another.

One thing I KNOW they have in common is that they like to mix. One mixes ingredients for cupcakes and baked goods and the other mixes music for entertainment purposes.

If I were to choose the perfect Target Wedding Registry gifts for, “The Perfect Mixed Couple” it would be this awesome pairing:

The Perfect #TargetWedding Gifts

This KitchenAid Mixer is one of my favorite must-have kitchen appliances and will help these newlyweds whip up dessert in no time. The iTunes gift card can be purchased in the Target electronics section or at the checkout aisles in lots of different dollar amounts.

Make sure you check out #targetwedding for other pairing ideas!

Have you bought the perfect wedding gift for friends or family? What was it??

Jabra Revo Wireless Headphones Review #setsoundfree

Thank you Jabra for providing this review product in order to give a thorough review of the Revo Wireless Headphones.

I spend a good portion of my day listening to music or podcasts on my smartphone. Whether I’m in my cubicle, out in the yard on the riding lawn mower, or working out I usually need a soundtrack. So, I was excited to check out the new Revo Wireless Headphones from Jabra.

Jabra Revo Wireless Headphones Collage MommyB

Revo’s High Quality, Look, Feel, & Function

It’s neat how the Revo headphones are hinged so that they can be folded to fit inside the included water-resistant pouch. While it can become more compact, it still feels very solid and well-made. I can appreciate the quality put into the design. As MommyB can attest, I’m pretty hard on my electronics. So, it’s good to know that Jabra went the extra mile to make the Revo so flexible and durable.

I really liked the unique and very minimal controls. The right ear cup has touch controls. You trace your finger clockwise or counterclockwise to increase and decrease the volume. The button in the middle is used to play and pause audio, while double-tapping the front and rear allow you to skip tracks. This is not only cool, but also very functional and it works surprisingly well once you get used to it.

Unpacking the Revo, you’ll find a USB cord for charging as well as an audio cord in case you want to connect them like traditional headphones. There’s also the aforementioned pouch that’ll be useful for storing the cords and the collapsible headphones.

Bluetooth & Phone Calls on the Revo

A pleasant female voice walked me through the simple pairing process. Before I knew it, I had easily paired the headphones with my HTC smartphone. The sound was great and I was able to walk about 40 feet from my phone and still hear my music. Other than when I was out of range, the audio never cut out.

Thanks to Revo’s dual microphones and noise canceling technology, MommyB said she could hear me clearly when I gave her a test call. You can also answer, end, redial, and reject calls with the same simple touch controls used to control audio.

Jabra Revo: Sound Check 1, 2, 1, 2

I enjoy a variety of music, but I mostly listen to rock, electronic music, and some hip hop. I was most interested in hearing how some of my indie/progressive rock sounded with these high-quality headphones. I love this type of music for the often complicated layering of varied sounds from live instruments you’d expect, orchestral instruments you may not expect, to synthesizers, turntable scratches, and anything else you could imagine.

The Revo didn’t disappoint. Almost immediately, Revo’s hi-fi, high-quality sound gave my music new life. The bass was the most noticeable difference from the start. It wasn’t overwhelming, but definitely more present than before.

Virtually all of my music sounded better and just more full, almost three-dimensional than before. Specifically, in songs by indie/prog bands like Local Natives, Mutemath, and Muse I heard a few small nuances and supporting background sounds that I didn’t know were there before. My electronic music sounded great too. I listened to Bonobo (more downtempo) and Nero (more upbeat) and they both had a little more dimension to them.

Fine Tuning with The Jabra Sound App

I liked how the headphones sounded from my first try, but I loved how they sounded after I installed the Jabra Sound App. Making changes with the app’s equalizer really helped me enhance the sound even more by choosing the right settings for the music I was listening to. It’s a free app available for both iOs and Android. Make sure you keep your packaging which includes the unlock code for the app.

I’ve always been a big music fan, but until the Revo I didn’t know how much a good pair of headphones could affect the sound of your music. These are high quality headphones that will not disappoint. The Revo will be my go-to headphones when I’m writing or when I want to hear my favorite music at its absolute best.

When do you listen to music? Would wireless headphones come in handy??

The Little Gym – A Family Experience

The Little Gym of Lake Norman/Huntersville

If you’re familiar with my site you’ve seen my posts on The Little Gym, whether I was talking about their core values, birthday parties, or reasons why both kids and parents alike love The Little Gym, and if you’re new to the site then, “Welcome!!!”

The Little Gym of Lake Norman/Huntersville

I am a HUGE supporter of The Little Gym (TLG), not only because the owners, Mr. Pete, and Mrs. Kim are such an amazing duo, not only because the staff at TLG has been extremely friendly, not only because my daughters get to learn the value of teamwork, being healthy, and listening to an adult, not only because they learn actual dance, sports, and gymnastic skills, but because The Little Gym is, in it’s entirety, a family experience.

The Little Gym Family

Each individual member of our family benefits from classes at TLG. My daughters get to enjoy their class and learn many skills, I get to know that I am providing a safe, fun experience for my children to learn {and meet some fun parents in the lobby}, and my husband is able to watch his girls excitement as they practice and show him moves at home and in their end of season shows. It’s really a sense of accomplishment for the whole family when your children are involved in something like The Little Gym. The Little Gym encourages parents to sit and watch our children, and gives us tips on what to work on at home and how to encourage our children, that’s definitely very unique and valuable when it comes to child-centered activities and classes.

Bullock Girls The Little Gym Collage

As The Little Gym of Huntersville/Lake Norman’s Mombassador, I am thrilled to share my family’s love for The Little Gym, and am always talking about how amazed I am with the benefits of their services. I encourage you to check out my other The Little Gym posts by clicking on the links in the first paragraph of this post or searching in my search box to the right of this post. Disney On Ice Charlotte – My Experience Opening Night

Last night, my family and I had a night to remember when we attended Disney On Ice Presents: Worlds of Fantasy. Glitter, fire {the good kind}, music, lights, bubbles, ice, and awesome Disney characters filled two-hours worth of amazing entertainment.

Disney On Ice Collage

I kept peeking over at my girls who were enthralled at the show, so much so that neither one of them moved an inch nor wanted to eat any of the yummy Time Warner Cable Arena snacks we purchased, and for my girls, that says a lot. Truth be told, I was pretty enamored too.

I wanted you to see and hear my completely honest thoughts so I made a quick video, enjoy!!

Yes I know I’m a little wacky, especially when it comes to parenting, I want my girls to have long-lasting memories of the time we were able to spend together and I know that this night will be one of them for sure. They talked about the best parts of the show, and who was their favorite character on the car ride home till they both fell asleep.

What’s one family event memory you know your kids will remember or one that you remember as a child??

I received complimentary tickets for my family to attend this event. That being said all the wacky, fun things I said are all my own personal thoughts {if you can’t tell already}. We’re all different though so you may disagree…{but I highly doubt it.}
