This is a sponsored post on behalf of Just Between Friends.

Have you ever thought about running a business of your very own? Being able to set your own hours? Helping your neighborhood and community? Making some extra cash for your family?

As moms, often times we want something in addition to being a mom and turn to jobs outside the home. As a blogger, most of the time I work from home, but there are opportunities for me to attend media events and work with the community, much like owning your own franchise with Just Between Friends Franchise {JBF}, North America’s leading children’s and maternity consignment event. I get to be mommy first and work at my own pace and as much or little as I want, and I really enjoy what each job, {different in it’s own rite}, brings me.

With the opportunity to turn your passion for helping other families save money, and wanting to step into a role of business owner for whatever reason it may be, Just Between Friends may be the perfect fit for you to become a business owner.

Some benefits to running your own business:

  • Make your own hours – if your children have sports or extracurricular activities that you can’t miss you can plan your working hours and event hours around your family’s needs.
  • Know your customer base – living in the area that you are hosting your consignment events gives you a great advantage of knowing what the best dates for sales will be and how to promote your sales.
  • Help families save money – JBF helps more than half a million families save and earn money every single year and you will be a big part of that!
  • Make extra income for your family – supplement income, save up for vacations that you might not have been able to go on before, or start or build on your family savings.
  • Work with others – Should you decide to run a business with friends, you’ll be working together to help create a successful business and enjoying that relationship that may be stronger

The Today Show calls it “the hottest ticket in town” and you could be the person or people who bring this to your area. Check out this video to hear more about the Just Between Friends consignment franchise.

Just Between Friends currently has 138 franchises in 28 states and Canada and expanding. That’s where you come in. JBF is looking a mom, or several moms to be the first to bring this super-successful event to area where there aren’t any.

At this point you may be wondering how it all works:

• Local moms/families/friends run the consignment event twice a year – spring and fall (a few ambitious owners may add in a holiday sale or summer event if they decide to)

• Families in your community sign up as consignors and sell the new and gently-used items their children have outgrown (or never used)

• Consignors earn 60 to 70 percent of the price of their sold items

• Other families shop the sales event and generally save more than 50 to 90% off of retail prices

Because JBF is part of a franchise, you have all the tools you’ll need to help you succeed at your fingertips and a great support system to help you build this business. That means you still have the flexibility to put your family first AND enjoy your passion AND help others. JBF is great for any “mompreneur” who is interested in owning a business that will help earn extra money without taking long hours from your family every week.

Favorite Family Friendly Restaurants in Charlotte

Restaurants Blog Hop

Living in Charlotte, North Carolina affords our family the opportunity to go out to eat, and Charlotte has some great restaurants to offer. While some of the restaurants mentioned below are chains, they are also restaurants who “do it well” in the family-friendly category.

Brixx Wood Fired Pizza- Every Charlotte location is geared towards families. For mom – delicious salads and “mom favorite pizza toppings”. For dad – a large variety of beers to choose from. For the kids – you can ask for a piece of pizza dough for them to play with while you wait on your food.

Chick-Fil-A- Local Chick-Fil-A restaurants are great at hosting super family friendly events. These restaurants go above and beyond to cater to the needs of their patrons. We love the disposable placemats, clean play areas, and healthy meal options.

Jason’s Deli– If you’re looking for organic, healthy options, this is the family-friendly restaurant for you. They have so many organic choices for adults and children from soups and sandwiches to their well-known salad bar, kids can choose from over 10 food options as well. Dine in and help yourself to their complimentary extras like mini muffins and soft-serve, low calorie frozen yogurt.

Moe’s Southwest Grill- Makes mini adult meals for the children with their fun, kid-friendly menu. Our family never runs out of chips, always enjoys being greeted by their famous, “Welcome to Moe’s” greeting, and love that they have fresh food choices and never use a microwave.

Pike’s Old Fashioned Soda Shop- Definitely a place to take the whole family at least one time. children and adults alike will enjoy the retro decor inside the restaurant. The food is okay, but the desserts are divine. Sodas, milkshakes, and ice cream treats are a must-try at this family-friendly spot.

Mimi’s Cafe- Great family friendly restaurant, with homestyle foods great for every member of your family. They offer a great kid’s menu selection, {my girls love the pancakes and mini cheeseburgers}. Both of my girls had their choice of restaurant for their birthday and they each chose Mimi’s Cafe.

Birthday Bash – Got What it Cakes

Got What it Cakes Charlotte LogoBirthday cakes come in all shapes and sizes and have been a tradition since the beginning of time when man made the first Birthday cake from leaves and twigs. {Alright maybe that isn’t quite factual, but you could imagine something like that right?!?}

Birthday cake tends to be the “finishing touch” on a party, something that all the guests tend to look forward to and in our case the rainbow themed “4” cake by Got What it Cakes was no different. Owner Mandie Miller takes great care to produce an amazing product that looks great, and receives rave reviews in the taste department as well. It’s no wonder that Mandie and her cakes received a Best of the Best Award by Charlotte Magazine.

Mandie is an amazing baker who comes up with mouth-watering flavors like strawberry fluff, and peanutbutter cream, and is also, “mom” to two little girls as well! She’s amazing at what she does and I would highly recommend Got What it Cakes not only from my personal opinion, but also the many rave reviews I received when our party guests saw and tasted her cake.

Here are some pictures {compliments of Barbara Payne Photography} of the amazing rainbow cake she made for Little Miss A’s 4th birthday:

Little Gym of Huntersville / Lake Norman

The Little Gym of Lake Norman/HuntersvilleCommunity, health, and teamwork are three important things that I strive to teach my girls on a daily basis. I never knew until recently that I could get this trio of values all rolled into one, until I enrolled Miss A in classes at The Little Gym of Lake Norman/Huntersville.

Here’s a story about  how we started attending The Little Gym, (maybe you can relate): It was a dark and stormy night, wait, that’s not the right story. Let me try again, once upon a time…in a land filled with toys, there was a desperate mother who loved her children, and knew a very big event was upon her. She feared that the toys would over-run her entire house as Princess A’s third birthday was drawing near. So what did this poor mother do, you ask?? She pondered her options, analyzed the Princess’ favorite activities, and then realized that it would be wise to ask the royal grandparents for birthday money towards programs at The Little Gym of Lake Norman/Huntersville instead. What a smart mother!! Read More

MommyB is for Bountiful Harvest

Today was our first Farmer’s Market visit and as I sit here eating McDonald’s, yes you heard right, not food from Old MacDonald’s farm, the kind of McDonald’s that has the fries that never decompose, I wonder where it all went wrong. I guess perhaps it all started this morning…I wasn’t feeling great and Daddy B let me sleep in with Baby C, we ended up getting up around 10:30, this is crazy late for me.

Now in a perfect world I’d get up at 10:30 and the whole family would be ready to head out the door by 11:00 right? Not with us, not only did I need to get myself around, I needed to feed Baby C, get her dressed, dress Little Miss A, and then, dum…dum…dum…Mis A’s hair….this is an entity in itself. Often times I find myself wondering why I prayed for daughters with curly hair, and I love the look when it’s all pretty and done up, but it sure does take some energy, time, and product! After all of us getting ready plus 30 minutes for two puffy piggies, we were finally out the door…at lunchtime?!?! Read More

The Prenatal Picture Review

The Prenatal Picture ReviewEver wonder what your unborn baby will look like? Who’s nose he’ll have or if she’ll have a head full of hair? With today’s amazing 3d/4d technology you can find all these things and more out about your little one.  Coming from a time where mothers had to sense the gender of their baby and find out only on their labor day going to being able to see the most intricate details of their child’s fingers and toes and watch their baby suck their thumb in utero. What amazing progress we’ve made!

The Prenatal Picture allowed me and my family, DaddyB, and Little Miss A, the opportunity to take a peak at Baby Girl C and we were in awe. We confirmed that Baby Girl is indeed a baby and a girl, but even more than that we got to see her yawn, open her eyes, and mostly hide from us using her hands AND her feet. Read More
