Why am I sub-titling this post? Well, when it comes to choosing a holiday card I take forever, going back and forth between this one and that one, and really it’s hard for me to even narrow my favorite down to one, so I decided for this post I’m going to give you my Top 3 Picaboo Holiday Card Picks.

Now keep in mind we haven’t had our family shot done yet, so often times your card selection will vary depending on what colors you’re wearing, the tone of the picture {silly/serious/serilly-a combination of silly and serious}, and the subject of the pictures, this year we are hoping a family picture works, but as a backup we are going to get pictures of just the girls too, it’s hard to get 4 people looking one way AND smiling.

Okay, now here we go, Picaboo Pick #1:

 I am a sucker for the colors brown and blue together, they were my wedding colors, they are the color scheme for our bedroom and master bathroom and I love them as a combination. I also like the cool version of what in my head is a snowflake and that it’s simple and your focus goes straight to the picture of the family.

Picaboo Pick #2:

I like to be traditional in a lot of ways and love the classic look of this card, {it comes in other colors too if you’re not partial to red or your clothes don’t match with red}, this card is great for families bigger than 2 people or people who like to see lots of pictures of themselves With our family of four there are so many options we could choose a picture of DaddyB and I {if we were able to get a shot while the girls were running around,}, one picture of both my girls together, a picture of each girl by themselves, and/or a picture of the 4 of us and worse case scenario if our group shots didn’t look great, we could do one of each of our family members. Those are a lot of options!

Picaboo Pick #3:

Last but not least. I like this one because it’s a one shot deal, grab your favorite family photo and present in all it’s glory. I know I just said I’m mostly traditional, but I really love how this card is red, white, and blue for some reason. Plus, I’m all about the Joy, Peace, and Love!

Isabooties are American made and 100% animal-free and formaldehyde free. Great for indoor and outdoor, but not recommended on heavy pavement. Can you believe these Ultrasuede shoes are machine washable?? If you were to compare these shoes to another big name you’ll find that most are not machine washable and obviously not as eco-friendly, but very comparable in pricing.

Personally, if I can find similar organic or eco-friendly products at the same or lower price I’ll definitely go for those instead. It’s my responsibility to make choices for my daughters’ future home.

I love that there are many choices of pendants to personalize as well as other great designs without an initial. It was actually really hard to choose just one. Another one of my favorites is pictured above and is beautiful for Valentines Day, or even just to give to someone you love.

On a side note my 18 inch chain fits me just fine, but I might suggest to people who like to wear their necklaces long or loose that you may want to get the 20 inch chain instead of the 18″ for a little more “room.”

When we went to pick up our piece Little Miss A was super excited because she though she was doing the imprinting process again. I must confess I loved the process too. Jenny Bertleson, the owner of Handfuls Handprints was very gentle and sweet and made the imprints fun.

I’ve actually tried a few of the in-home kits and dealing with mixing the water and the powder and trying to get Miss A to open her hand and stay still just didn’t work out. We would always end up with a blob that you couldn’t really tell what it was. That’s why I love how the finished product from Handfuls Handprints turned out. I didn’t have to do anything but bring Miss A to see Jenny.

My favorite thing about the piece is the amount of customization we were able to do. Miss A picked out the colors for the glaze, Jenny picked a ribbon to match, and I picked out the cute heart shape. It was personalized with Miss A’s full name, how old she was at the time of the imprint and on the back the exact date. You can choose which hand or foot you want, the colors, shape, what you want the plaque to say and so much more! Definitely something you can’t do with an in-home kit.

I was in shock at the detail of the actual prints, they are beyond what I had expected and I love that they are so well done. You can feel and clearly see each toe/finger line, basically it’s very intricate work that I never would have accomplished doing it any other way. This will be something that I will treasure and look back at for years and years. I’m actually very excited for new baby to join us so that we can get her prints and at some point maybe even a full family set of hands.

I highly recommend any local (North Carolina) families to try out Handful’s Handprints, they have so many choices and price ranges and her work is really worth every penny.
