Kids Holiday Fashion Tips

This post is sponsored by Everywhere Agency on behalf of OshKosh B’gosh; however, all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

The holiday season is busy for our family, from hosting our own gatherings to attending get togethers with friends and even school parties and Christmas programs. As modern traditional parents, we want our kids to look festive but still be comfortable and age-appropriate.

We love the kids fashion that OshKosh B’gosh offers this time of year. Whether you have a child who likes fancy dresses or a child who prefers a nice sweater and jeans, OshKosh really does cater to a variety of styles.

With so many events to attend it gets pricey paying for several new outfits, but instead of buying one outfit for each event we love to buy separates that you can mix and match and Osh Kosh B’gosh kids has a great selection of coordinating pieces.

While shopping we saw adorable ponchos and super frilly dresses. Miss C ended up choosing some adorable print leggings and a romantic flowy top. She also picked out a glittery navy skirt to mix and match.

Another great way to save on the holiday clothing for your children is with an amazing Osh Kosh B’gosh coupon!!

Daddies and Daughters

Growing up not having a father figure in my life I always wondered what it would be like to have a dad. I’m blessed to now have a relationship with my dad, but definitely missed out on all the fun things dads do with their little girls. Maybe that’s why I’ve been blessed with two beautiful little girls and a husband who adores them.

I love watching DaddyB with the girls, seeing how they talk and play and how he makes them feel special. In our house the girls have Daddy-Daughter adventures where they get to spend the day with DaddyB doing some fun things mixed in with errands, it’s quality time that they treasure.

Another annual event that all three of my favorite people love is the Daddy Daughter dance that our school hosts. I love seeing DaddyB and the girls dress up and enjoy hearing all about their night. Last week they were able to participate in this years’ dance.

{Aren’t they awesome!!!}

They had a great time getting ready. US Angels sent the girls dresses and both of them felt like princesses. The quality of the dresses are outstanding. You can see the details in the stitching and feel it in the material.

As Lil’ C twirled around the room, {feeling like a princess}, she made sure to let us know her skirt had 6 layers.

And Miss A, looked grown up in the best way possible. I couldn’t believe how beautiful she is and how she’s turning into a young lady.

If you’re looking for a dress for a special occasion, like formal dances, holiday pictures, fancy parties, weddings, or confirmations, I would highly recommend checking out US Angels, they have great selections for little ones all the way through teenagers. usangels.com

At the event DaddyB and a photographer took lots of pictures and I can’t wait to see them all once they’re posted. The best thing is how the girls won’t need pictures to remember these special moments with their daddy.

For those of you who have lost your fathers in one way or another, take heart. I pray that you will find someone who will fill that role for you, be able to witness it in your own home as you make your own family, or be able to help others who might be missing out.

I received free product from US Angels, my thoughts and opinions are my own.

It’s an Art Party Review – Charlotte

If nothing else is true it’s that the B girls {myself included} love a good arts ‘n crafts project. Even better why not invite our friends to join us for an art party. Robin from It’s an Art Party was awesome enough to reach out after hosting a party with our friends over at Best Crowe’s Nest.

We know what it’s like to be new at school having switched schools two years ago and always love to host Summer play dates and get-togethers so the returning children can see each other and new students can meet their classmates before school starts to help the new school jitters. As soon as Robin approached me I knew this would be the perfect fit for an art party.

We chose a couple art activities that Robin offers, {for her full list check out her website at itsanartparty.com} and rented a park pavillion. Though we had a little windy weather, the kids had a blast and Robin was a great instructor, teaching them some new techniques most of them had never used before.

The kids had a blast watercoloring using salt and their creations turned out so pretty.

The kids were also able to make some fun bubble paint creations, the wind made this a little more challenging but the kids loved this art activity.

Overall our get-together was a big success, the kids had a great time creating fun art and running around on the playground while socializing with new and returning classmates. I am so thankful that Robin was able to come and give the class a memorable back-to-school experience.

It’s An Art Party specializes in birthday parties, but you can hire them for any of your upcoming events. We really loved Robin’s care and instruction, and best of all set-up and clean-up are a part of her services.

Creative Ways to Celebrate Independence Day Traditions with Family

As an ambassador for Rayovac I have been compensated for this blog post. All thoughts and opinions on the products are my own.

Traditions are awesome! Spending time together celebrating holidays and events year-by-year is one of the most important ways to help shape your family’s memory.

Traditions are traditions for a reason, because they’re typically done on a regular basis {bi-annually, yearly, monthly, etc}, however it’s never to late to start a tradition with your family and while you’re at it, why not get creative?!?

Here are some Creative Ways to Celebrate Independence Day Traditions with Family. Miss A helped me come up with some of the things on this list, which make it even more awesome.

Creative Traditions to Celebrate Independence Day MommyB

Flag someone’s yard who has been a great service to our country. Take several small flags and stick them in the ground to show you are thinking about that person. Try to remember not to let any of the flags touch the ground or fall over.

Have a popsicle making competition. Get creative or make your favorite flavors. This tradition is almost as fun to do as it is to judge. Here are some great popsicle recipes and ideas.

Visit veterans and provide a service to them. Some ideas of services could include making a meal, mowing their lawn, helping run errands, or making thank you cards.

Learn about the American Flag – though it’s not Flag Day the American Flag holds a lot of history in it’s stars and stripes. It’s not often that we talk about the American Flag, the stories behind it, and the symbolism. Make this one of your yearly activities and include new games or crafts each year to make this activity fun and fresh.

  • Split the flag up into sections for your family or group and have each person draw a part of the flag. Take a picture of the finished product.
  • Wear patriotic colors and create a human flag.
  • Make your own flag puzzle and have fun put it together each year. Remember to take pictures!

Host a 4th of July family parade. You could include neighbors and friends in this activity. Have fun dressing up as an important Independence Day figure.

Bake a cake and sing, “Happy Birthday” to America! Obviously it’s best to make a cake that reflects America, try out some cakes featured on my Pinterest Holiday Board.

Explore a new museum or historical landmark. There are so many museums and historical landmarks that we don’t even know exists and some may be right in our own proverbial backyard. Take time before the 4th to research and plan your visit.

Decorate your house and sing patriotic songs while doing it. Just like decorating and caroling at Christmas time {if you celebrate that way}, why not decorate with 4th of July decor, flags, and sing songs about our country. How many can you remember?!?

Celebrate and use products that are Made in the USA. Did you know that Rayovac alkaline and hearing aid batteries are made in the USA? There aren’t many products from large brands that are still made in America, but by using American made products we’re finding another way to support our country.

What do you and your family do to celebrate and create Independence Day traditions???

Easy Entertaining Tips for the Holidays

Thank you Swiffer Bissell Steamboost for sponsoring this post.

I don’t know about you, but I love celebrating my holidays surrounded by amazing people I love and care about. Whether it’s a family get together or friends coming over for a night in, or even a holiday pajama party with the kiddos, we enjoy opening our home to others.

While I would love to say I’m a Mary {enjoying the conversation and company}, more often than not, I am a Martha {wanting to make sure everything is in it’s place, clean and neat}. The older I get, the more I realize that the people visiting my home don’t care if I dusted my baseboards or the inside of my oven is sparkling. Of course being me, I want my home to be clean and neat, but it doesn’t need to be sparkling.

Easy Entertaining Tips for the Holidays MommyB.jpg

Instead of stressing myself out over cleaning my home, I’ve decided that I’m going to take less time cleaning and more time enjoying my company, but I need to come up with some tips to help me be a good hostess, while achieving this goal.

Holiday Entertaining MommyB

Here are some easy entertaining tips for the holidays that I came up with that may help you be a Mary instead of a Martha too.

Bissell Happy Holidays.jpg1. Use cleaning products that will cut my cleaning time and get the job done.

I recommend the Swiffer Bissell Steamboost, it’s lightweight (so your arms won’t feel like jelly when you are done mopping), easy to put together, and works AMAZINGLY!!! I used this right before a big play date and the floors were sparkling, I could see it removing the gunk from my floors as I used it.

2. Use white dishware and serving dishes.

Using all white dishware not only allows you to dress up your dishes with ribbon and other table decor without being too much of an eye sore, but it also gives your table a streamline look rather than hodge podge, plus you can use them anytime of year, not just during the holiday they represent.

3. Buy food don’t make it.

Unless you are hosting a dinner party (and even then you may want to consider some pre-made food items), consider buying snacks and food from the store. Less work and clean-up for you and will limit the amount of tasks on your to-do list before your guests arrive.

4. Tidy, don’t clean.

Remember that your home is probably going to need a cleaning after your guests arrive as well, so spend your time cleaning counters, floors, and moving clutter rather than focusing on the small details. I also highly suggest, moving extra toys or furniture to the garage or another empty room in your home temporarily to help make your home look more clean.

5. Shower and dress after everything is done.

I’ve gotten ready before cleaning and moving furniture before parties and get togethers before and ended up a sweaty mess, so needless to say I’ve learned my lesson and try to save getting myself ready for the party for very last. I also try to get most things ready the night before so I don’t have a lot of big work to do the day of.

So thanks to my tips and tools of the trade, I go from:
