Why I Conture

This is a sponsored post in partnership with Conture Skin Care. All opinions are my own.

When I was a little girl I rarely wore sunscreen and when I was in college I visited the tanning salon on a regular basis. I’ll admit I wasn’t very health conscious when it came to my skin, but it’s never to late to start caring for your skin.

Now that it’s been a few months since I first started using the Conture Kinetic Skin Toning System ,  I wanted to give you an update!

I love Conture’s wrinkle fighting properties and know they will come in handy for helping me take good care of my skin. As I mentioned in my previous post, for me it’s not just about beauty, but also to be aware of changes in my skin and really focus on skin health.

I’m still enjoying using the skin toning system, however being busy means I don’t have time to use my Conture every morning and night. I do however always use the Conture Kinetic Serums on a daily basis.

I really love the serums because they give my skin the moisture it needs during winter months, not to mention it goes on smoothly. I love that my skin feels soft and not greasy after I use the product.

While the Conture System is a bit of an investment, if you are someone who is spending several hundred dollars on spa treatments and facials this product will definitely save you money in between services. If you’re someone who likes to focus on self care in the comfort of your home and want to try a few products before making a larger commitment I strongly recommend the Kinetic AM & PM kit.

I personally would love to try the Kinetic Remedy Eye Treatment and it’s price point is in the range I normally pay for similar products.

If you are interested in learning more about the Conture Kinetic Skin Toning System, visit their website at Conture.com and for an amazing 25% discount off their entire product line be sure to use the code: MommyB25

Make Dull Skin Bright This Winter – Conture Kinetic Skin Toning System

This is a sponsored post in partnership with Conture Skin Care. All opinions are my own.

Though it’s taken a while to actually feel like Winter is on it’s way, I think here in North Carolina it’s safe to say that we are feeling the cool air. Even though I love the cooler weather it also brings along some not so great things like dryness that makes my body feel tight and itchy and right about now my face is feeling the effects of the weather change.

mommyb-problem-skin

I’m noticing dry patches, and breakouts and would love to have clear, glowing skin this holiday season.

I’ve been given the opportunity to try out a product that is painless and something I can do in the comfort of my own home that will help my skin look radiant and more smooth.

Over the next 30 days I’ll be using the Conture Kinetic Skin Toning System. I’m excited to see what the results will be and hope you are too.

NEW Pampers Easy Ups Toddler Unboxing

“This post and giveaway were made possible by iConnect and Pampers Easy Ups. I was compensated for my participation in this campaign, but all opinions are 100% mine.”

Messes, accidents, and sometimes arguments!

Bet you wouldn’t guess I was describing the process of going from diapers to underwear for some families.  Transitioning into underwear is a big deal for every toddler and it’s a big deal for parents too. Let’s face it, the potty training journey can be a long one, so why not let Pampers make it a little easier.

We love Pampers and I’m always amazed at the innovative ways they improve their products to help families. The New Pampers Easy Ups are no exception. They fit like underwear with their 360 degree stretchy waistband, feel like underwear, look like underwear {with some really cool character graphics} and give your child the same great leak protection.

With some great encouragement from her big sister Julia was excited to check out and try on her new big girl underwear. We are so excited for Julia and her family who are beginning this potty training journey.

Getting our House Market Ready – Window Genie Review

The Bullocks are moving to Charlotte!

Lately our family has been getting our current home market ready and as we do so we want our home to look amazing for buyers. Our awesome realtor has helped us with staging the home, we hired a carpet cleaner to freshen up some areas in the house and recently Window Genie of Concord paid us a visit.

NEW WG Gold

Most homes around this time of year need a little cleaning and our home is no different {other than the fact that we want it to look extra nice for potential buyers}. We were introduced to Window Genie Concord and they helped us achieve a beautiful, clean looking home.

If you’re not familiar with the company, Window Genie offers a huge selection of services whether you are getting your home market ready or just want to maintain your home’s curb appeal.

Mark from Window Genie came to our home to survey areas that were in need of care and give us a recommended plan of action. We chose to have the North side of the house, North side of our inside fence, and both front and back patios/walkways powerwashed.

While they were here Mark and his team went above and beyond to make sure our home looked amazing.

Here are some before and after pictures:

(No filters were used on any images but as you can tell the direction of the sun changed between photos.)

As you can see the results speak for themselves. Mark and his team were friendly, and professional. One thing I really loved too is that they moved and put back all the furniture that was where they cleaned saving me time to complete other tasks on my ever growing to-do list.

I love how clean the house and fence look and know whoever decides to tour the house will notice as well. We are so happy we worked with Window Genie to help get our home market ready. I’m already making a list of tasks for Window Genie for our new house to make it look just as great as our house now.

If you want to check them out, they’re a national company, and I can personally recommend the Concord branch. concord-nc.windowgenie.com

Mention MommyBKnowsBest to Window Genie Concord location and receive 10% off!!!

I want to know: What are some things you’ve done or services you’ve used to make your house market ready??

This is a review for Window Genie services I did not receive compensation and all opinions are my own, honest thoughts.

Tips for Having an Intentional Summer

This is a sponsored post on behalf of The Motherhood.

Like many families do, our family packed up our belongings and moved into a new home. Though we’re on the other side of “town” and only 30 minutes from our old house, it’s almost like we’re in a new state. We’re not familiar with the parks, don’t know the best farmer’s markets to go to, haven’t got a clue what the best summer camps are. One thing we do know though is that even though we have a lot of unpacking and settling to do, we want our girls to have an intentional summer.

What does intentional summer mean for our family? It looks a little something like this:

Tips for an Intentional Summer MommyB

My nature is to unpack and make sure everything has a home and designated spot, but the longer I’m a mom the more I realize that I want these beautiful girls to have a fun and memorable childhood. That includes spending time with friends, and creating family traditions.

Here are some of the tips I’ve used this busy summer to make sure we’re being intentional:

1. Create a Summer Bucket List with a variety of activities to complete throughout the summer.

2. Vary your play, choose one water play day, one outdoor play, one indoor play day and theme them as well.

3. Be spontaneous (I know a Type-A personality saying this, but I’ve really had to step out of my personality to make sure my kids enjoy themselves), go for ice cream before dinner, pop into a kids play place with no notice. You’ll be surprised at how impactful of a memory this will be with your children later on in life as well.

4. Let them choose an activity or destination. Giving your children the power of choice will not only be really exciting, but it will also give them confidence in making decisions.

5. Play safe and be proactive. I am “one of those moms”, you know the ones who carry a big bag (not a diaper bag anymore but still a considerable size) with everything imaginable in them? I am certain I would win if I were on the game show “Let’s Make a Deal!” by pulling out something random that almost no human carries on their person. That’s what’s great though, when the girls scrape a knee while playing hopscotch at a friends house or are playing in the water I’m armed with the right mom gear to make sure we can keep the fun going.

5 Fun and Unique Family Eats in Charlotte North Carolina

With the BIG MOVE coming up soon we’ve been dining out a good bit and I’m completely okay with that. It definitely makes for an empty sink and less stressful night.

Luckily we’ve been able to try out a few new family-friendly spots in Charlotte and also enjoy some of our “usual” spots as well. Here’s a quick list of 5 fun and unique family-friendly restaurants in Charlotte, North Carolina:

Top 5 Fun and Unique Family Friendly Restaurants in Charlotte MommyB

For the homegrown family:

TRY Earth Fare – If you don’t mind eating in a grocery cafe {which I don’t mind at all!} the Family Dinner Nights at any Charlotte location is ah-mazing! If you head to Earth Fare any Thursday from 4pm-8pm up to 6 kids eat free with the purchase of an adult meal, valued at $5.00 or more. This restaurant offers organic, healthy choices for kids meals and just recently added nuggets, and Lil’ C’s favorite pasta salad to their kid’s offerings. Definitely a great place to head for a healthy family meal on a budget.

For the spicy family:

TRY Chuy’s Restaurant – Not all the dishes are spicy, but the decor is guaranteed to brighten up your day. The kids will love the playful design of the restaurant, watching the process of hand-made tortillas, and searching for the “hidden keys” around the restaurant. {We spotted a couple last time we visited}. If your kiddos don’t love Mexican food there are tons of other options on the kids menu that will satisfy even the pickiest of eaters. Don’t forget the drink and food specials for mom and dad!

Chuy's Family Friendly Charlotte Restaurant MommyB

For the NEW traditional family:

TRY Nan & Byrons – If you want to try something you’ve ordered a million times and have it taste like never before, this is your spot. The cool twist on traditional menu items like their peppadew poppers, beet burger {that’s had rave reviews}, meatloaf, salmon, {I could go on and on} really makes this restaurant stand out. Often places with this vibe don’t offer a kids menu and aren’t super accommodating, but hallelujah, they have a GREAT kids menu with big portions, decent prices AND kids eat free Sunday through Wednesday from 5pm to 7pm. If you’re looking for a new restaurant to try and wanna bring the kiddos {or have to for lack of a babysitter} check it out!

Nan & Byron's Family Friendly Charlotte Restaurant MommyB

For the culinary family:

TRY Papa Murphy’s – The family that builds a pizza stays together. This cool “take-n-bake” concept features fresh ingredients including in-store made dough and makes your pizza your way right in front of you. The kids will love watching the pizza artists add their favorite toppings and watching it cook at home. The best part is you can order a couple to take home and freeze. They have really cool Mini Murphy kits where the kids can make their own pizzas at home, dessert pizzas, AND a great reading program where they can earn some yummy prizes.

Papa Murphy's Family Friendly Restaurant Charlotte MommyB

For the healthy family:

TRY Jason’s Deli – If you’re looking for organic, healthy options, this is the family-friendly restaurant for you. They have so many organic choices for adults and children from soups and sandwiches to their well-known salad bar, kids can choose from over 10 food options as well. Dine in and help yourself to their complimentary extras like mini muffins and soft-serve, low calorie frozen yogurt.

What’s your favorite fun or unique restaurant in Charlotte??

The thoughts and opinions expressed in this post are my own, I was not compensated for this post but have received complimentary sample food items from the above restaurant.
