Jason’s Deli Catering For Entertaining

This is a sponsored post with Jason’s Deli, all opinions are my own.

I love holiday entertaining, the sound of people laughing and getting together to celebrate and enjoy each other’s company really warms my heart.

What I don’t love as much is figuring out the food aspect of hosting parties. I never know what to make or how much food I’ll need. To be honest, it stresses me out a little just thinking about it. This time of year it’s so much nicer when get togethers are stress and hassle-free. Don’t you agree??

I’ve teamed up with one of our family favorites, Jason’s Deli on their “Catering for Entertaining” Campaign to share with you how easy it is to host special events and treat your guests.

We love Jason’s Deli’s and their healthy food philosophy and now they’ve turned decades of hospitality, catering and delivery into a new service – Catering for Entertaining. Jason’s Deli brings wholesome, affordable foods directly to your party, so you have one less thing on your to-do list. Their goal is to be your catering service for holidays, retirement parties, birthday parties or any upcoming social events you may have.

Placing your order simple. Order with ease on their mobile app, online or call a location near you. When you order on the mobile app or online you have 24/7 access to your account, can create new orders or edit recent orders. You also earn Deli Dollar rewards! Another great option is pick up or delivery, I prefer delivery when I’m hosting so it’s one less thing for me to worry about.

Set up is a breeze, use Jason’s Deli downloadable table tent cards to tell your guests what goodies they will be enjoying and keep food in the catering containers or easily transfer Jason’s Deli to your own serving dishes for a little extra Christmas pizzazz.

My favorite part, besides knowing that we are eating yummy food without all the junk {dyes, artificial trans fats and flavors, processed MSG, and high-fructose corn syrup} is that the clean-up is almost non-existent, leaving me with plenty of time and energy to enjoy my company.

At a recent get-together with friends we were able to enjoy several great catering options.

The Kids Party Pack where children can grab fruit, veggies, and a healthy sandwich {super simple and a crowd-pleaser} for a well-balanced party lunch.

I highly recommend the Italian Pasta Salad was fresh, delicious and brought color to our meals. Plus I feel like this is a dish that everyone will love.

The Modern Meat and Cheese Package is one of my favorite offerings because it’s even better than an antipasto platter, my favorites are the olives, roasted red peppers and the basil pesto aioli is a huge hit with the masses. The crunchy garlic toasties and flatbread complete this platter. It also comes with an amazing Brownie Duo that includes fudge-walnut and peanut butter brownies.

I personally can’t have a gathering without a Fresh Fruit Tray and Fresh Veggie Tray and Jason’s Deli offers an amazing selection for each. These, in my opinion, are fresher and more plentiful with a wider selection of fruits and vegetables than a store-bought version. The trays were overflowing with plump strawberries and the ranch dressing was delicious over crunchy veggies including the zucchini.

Treat your guests with delicious Jason’s Deli’s Cake Bites. Our guests loved the display of chocolate, vanilla, and red velvet treats. You could also easily package these up and give them as party favors or deliver a whole tray to your favorite teacher or neighbor.

These are only a few of the many packages that Jason’s Deli has on their Catering For Entertaining menu. If you’re hosting a get together, I strongly encourage you to check out the many different packages and offerings they have. Not only will it save you the stress of figuring out the food details, but it will free you up to enjoy special occasions and gatherings.

How to Show Your #disneyside Princess Style

It’s no secret that we love to have parties and playdates, but having two girls a princess party is a must! We’ve thrown a Sofia the First Princess party, and a Princess Birthday party for Lil’ C and of course many princess dress-up parties in our time.

Realizing that all of our #disneyside attendees were going to be girls, {we wish we could have invited millions of friends but with the party limits and space inside our house, only Disneyland could have held us all}, our obvious choice for party theme was a princess party. Don’t worry though, we had plenty of Mickey, Minnie, and the gang too.

Here’s our recipe for a great #disneyside party:

A dash of decorations, crafts, games, and goodie bags:

Our guests got their photos taken in front of the Mickey and Gang Step and Repeat, chose their favorite Disney Princess tattoo, made Disney inspired t-shirts from Hanes brand, {of course most of the shirts featured Mickey and favorite princesses}, listened to the Disney Frozen soundtrack, played Disney trivia and Disney Bingo, and of course left the party with some pretty cute purple and pink princess swag including headband crowns, star wand lollipops, and a variety of Disney goodies.

We had so much fun with our friends and had a blast showing our princess #disneyside. I can’t wait to take the girls to Disneyland as a part of the Disney Social Media Moms Conference in April. They will be beyond excited to visit and DaddyB and I can’t wait either.

We want to know, how do you show your #disneyside???

As promised, here’s your chance to show your #disneyside with Build-a-Bear Workshop, enter to win a $25 gift card and be sure to check out their new Disney Princess Palace Pets friends.

Sky’s the Limit! Custom Cakes & More Charlotte

Living in Charlotte, I have many opportunities to work with amazing people. I fully enjoy working with those who use their talents and businesses for good and Ines Aranguren at Sky’s the Limit! Custom Cakes & More is one of those amazing people.

Ines is a very talented baker and artist. Usually you find a cake that will taste great, but look okay or taske okay and look great. This is not the case with Sky’s the Limit! Custom Cakes and More. I have had the pleasure of working with Ines on a local event, tasted her delicious treats at birthday parties, and most recently was able to share one of her fun creations with my daughter’s class.

This beautiful Christmas/Happy Birthday Jesus cake, complete with fluffy snow frosting, colorful Christmas trees and of course by request, baby Jesus in a manger was made specifically for Miss A’s class party by Ines from Sky’s the Limit! Custom Cakes and More.

 SkystheLimitChristmasCakeCollageMommyB

Not only was everyone impressed with how amazing this cake looked but parents and students alike were digging in for a piece {or two!} and everyone wanted Sky’s the Limits’ information. I of course was happy to recommend because I believe in great businesses, doing good things for others, and that are more than professional in their field of work and Ines and her husband are just that.

Sky’s the Limit! Custom Cakes and More is known for their gorgeously decorated wedding cakes, and have been nominated for several awards including the Wedding Wire Couple’s Choice Awards for 2014, and theknot.com’s 2013 Best of Weddings. While she rocks at wedding cakes, Ines excels at anything she does and does not limit her skills to any one dessert type. If you check out her Facebook page you can see beautiful fruit tarts, delectable pies, and scrumptious cookies.

The creations that Sky’s the Limit! Custom Cakes & More design are above and beyond what you could imagine. I’m not exaggerating when I say that Ines’ realistic looking flowers and intricate designs will blow you away.

Be sure to head to her website for more examples of her work, cake and frosting flavors and prepare to be amazed! skysthelimitcake.com

Miss A’s class received this cool cake from Sky’s the Limit! Custom Cakes and More and while I am not obligated to write a blog post for them {at their request}, I can’t help but share with you about brands and businesses my family {and many others} truly enjoy.

Moe’s Southwest Grill® “Mini Moe’s™ Birthday Party Package”

I received complimentary food and product to host this event.

Presents, decorations, cupcakes, songs, games, and sometimes even pinatas are pieces of successful birthday parties. In most cases so is food. Some parents theme the food around the birthday party theme, which is awesome, but does take some time, research, and also energy.

I enjoy planning out parties whether they are my girls’ birthday parties, play dates or brand events, but sometimes there are times when I can’t or don’t want to focus on all the little details of the party and that’s when I call for the reinforcements.

As a Mombassador for Moe’s Southwest Grill® I’ve been able to enjoy Moe’s food at their retail locations, as well as catered events. Each time Moe’s caters I receive so many compliments from friends and attendees on how great the service and food are.

Moes Southwest Grill Coloring Pages MommyB

For this event, we hosted a fun tie-dye pinata party where the attendees tie-dyed t-shirts, enjoyed water table play, colored Moe’s Southwest Grill® themed coloring pages, enjoyed delicious catering by Moe’s Southwest Grill® (even our friend with nut allergies didn’t have to worry), and had fun breaking the pinata filled with candy. Each kiddo left with a fun-filled goodie bag and a full tummy.

Check out all the fun we had:

We had a blast celebrating and Moe’s made it really easy for us to be able to enjoy the party, and not worry about pre-heating the oven, or calling in for pizzas. The delivery was simple, and set up quickly, and we were able to dig in and enjoy. I love Moe’s Southwest Grill® because both parents and kids enjoy their food, so it’s a crowd pleaser for sure.

Now here’s the good news: Moe’s Southwest Grill® is hosting a “Mini Moe’s™ Birthday Party Package” giveaway. Enter to win this package that includes catering for up to 20 people, decorations and party favors. The contest runs now through September 16, 2013. Enter by heading to Club Mini Moe’s here: clubminimoes.com (No purchase necessary). While you’re there make sure you check out special offers, kids’ menu, games and more!!

Princess Party Food Ideas

Lil’ C turned 3 last month and knew a few months before that she wanted a princess party. As you’ve seen in previous years {Miss A’s Rainbow Birthday Bash, Lil C’s Bee Party} I like to get crafty and creative when I throw my little girls birthday parties, whether they are at our home or at a party location. One of the aspects of a party where you can get really creative are with food!! Princess Party Food Ideas from MommyBKnowsBest

Since it was a princess themed birthday party I checked out all things girly on Pinterest, Etsy, and of course googled, “Princess Party” to see what I could come up with. I found some great recommendations all over the web and a lot of recurring ideas from several websites. I can’t attribute them to just one website, but here are a couple that gave me inspiration: disney princess inspired, and cute ruffle hombre cake.

Here are the princess inspired food choices:

Princess Party Food MommyB

1. Trader Joe’s Yogurt Star cookies (nut-free) – these were great because the party colors were white, pink, and purple.

2. Chocolate covered Marshmallows – we used pink dipping chocolate that contained nuts, I also used some pink sprinkles to give them a little sparkle.

3. Princessy Fruit Wands – instead of using lots of different fruits like I had seen online I chose to stick with grapes for the handle of the wand and made cantaloup stars using a play-doh cutter we had around the house.

4. Pretty Meringue cookies (processed with nuts) – someone online mentioned Trader Joe’s had colored versions of meringues including pink, I didn’t find the pink ones but this white version was perfect and pretty.

5. Mini Ruffle Cupcakes – I knew I wanted to make ruffles but wasn’t sure about making an entire cake. (I made my own cake because we had an attendee who has a nut allergy). I found a great tutorial of the mini ruffle cupcakes, and scaled mine down from 2 cupcakes they used to just one, I figured that was plenty for each child. I used a strawberry box mix and made my own buttercream frosting. I topped them off with a princess themed Wilton topper and they were relatively easy to make not having much icing experience. I’ll admit it was a lot of icing to cake ratio, but I don’t think the kids minded *LOL*

6. Blue Bunny Ice Cream Castles – Using an ice cream cone, sprinkles, princess decorations, the same dipping chocolate I used on the covered marshmallows, and any flavor Blue Bunny Ice Cream or Frozen YogurtI made these cute “ice cream castles”. I came up with the idea on my own, but I’m sure other people have probably done something similar in the past. Growing up I always had ice cream with my cake so I tried to figure out how I could incorporate it into our princess theme. It was pretty easy to do.

I dipped the cone into our melting chocolate, covered in sprinkles and sugar pearls, let it dry, filled the cones with Blue Bunny All Natural Frozen Yogurt, and topped with a sparkly metallic flag that I found while shopping at Super Target.

Are you throwing a Princess themed birthday party??? What was your favorite snack idea? {you don’t need to pick just one}. If you do use any of my ideas, especially the ice cream castle idea, feel free to link back here or share by pinning, on Facebook or Twitter!!

Blue Bunny Ice Cream with Cake MommyB

(For the party we cut Blue Bunny Birthday Party Ice Cream Sandwiches in half and each child enjoyed them with their cupcakes, they were easy and one of the best flavors for a birthday party (or anytime)).

I received Blue Bunny ice cream products for this party, that in no way reflects the integrity of my post or any opinions I have shared. My family enjoys the products and Lil’ C said, “Best Birthday Ever” so I think that speaks for itself.
