Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey’s 90-city tour is coming to Charlotte January 30 – February 3rd. This show features one phenomenal Ringling Bros. circus act after another, from Shaolin Kung Fu Warriors, charging Cossack riders, magnificent Asian elephants, fierce tigers to the frenzied Globe of Steel featuring the Torres family, and more! Take a look:
Elephants respond to some 60 verbal commands, as well as recognize human and animal friends after years of separation.
Tigers are the largest living members of the cat family. A tiger typically grows to be 40 inches tall at the shoulder, nine feet long and 500 pounds in weight.
A female elephant is pregnant for 22 months. (I’m thankful I’m not an elephant right about now.)
Horses are social animals. They form strong associations with members of their herd and possess a keen ability to recognize subtle social cues.
Male goats, called bucks or billies, usually have a beard. Female goats are called does or nannies, and young goats are called kids.
Llamas are normally sheared every two years.
If you are an animal lover, which I know many of you are, you may appreciate the fact that Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey fund and have created state-of-the-art centers for elephant conservation as well as a big cat conservation. Not only that, but the animals you see in the show are cared for by animal care professionals around the clock and are showcased to display their physical abilities, beauty, and distinct behaviors.
