Protect Baby from Bugs and Sun with Cozy Cover {Guest Review}

April 10, 2014 26 Comments »

This week has been wonderful! I am so excited that the weather has been warm and the sun has been bright and shining in North Carolina. Hopefully this is an indication that Spring is here to stay!

We are spending a lot of time outside. That’s wonderful for the older children, but we just welcomed our newest member of the family into the world last week. I can’t be two places at one time, so she comes outside with us. She’s definitely been getting her vitamin D, but I don’t want her to burn.

I was pretty excited to see the Cozy Cover Sun & Bug Cover when it arrived in the mail. It’s the perfect solution!

Cozy Cover Out of the Box

Not only does it protect her from the sun, it also keeps the bugs away. We have a pergola attached to our back porch and the wood bees LOVE it. Thankfully they tend to mind their own business if we leave them alone. So far we haven’t had to deal with mosquitos. But they usually aren’t bad until Summer officially starts.

With the weather being so nice out this week, our oldest daughter requested that we eat outside for dinner. I didn’t really want to lay a blanket on the grass or the concrete and lay baby girl down, so I pulled out her car seat and attached the Cozy Cover.

It was so easy to use!

There an elasticized edge around the cover, and it fits snuggly around the sides of the infant car seat. This makes for a great universal fit. We have an Cybex Aton infant seat, and it fits great.

The pullover flap protects the baby from the sun, or even rain. It has elastic at the bottom of the flap so it fits securely over the seat.

There is even a self-supporting canopy to keep the cover away from the baby’s face.

Cozy Sun and Bug Cover Review

Her brothers and sister enjoyed having her outside with them, and I had peace of mind that she was safe from the sun and any bugs that might want to feast on her newborn sweetness.

    Hi Whitney,
What a pleasant surprise to see you and your write up. You were one of the first people I met at CCC in Huntersville with just one little girl and one on the way, back in 2009 or 2010… Wow you have added two more! Amazing! Just wanted to say how neat it was to see you on here. Where do you go to church now?

That is a great product. They didn’t really have things like that when my boys were babies, so I always just used a blanket.

This would be great to protect baby from mosquitos on the running trails, or even on bike rides (hooked up behind mom).

I wish this was around when my daughters were younger so we didn’t have to use a hot blanket to protect them from bugs and sun.

what a genius idea!! bugs and babies don’t belong together, unless the bugs are stuffed toys!

This is a really brilliant idea! My daughter got a slight sunburn when she was an infant because the sun was hitting her in the back of the car. I felt terrible! If I had this, that would have definitely been prevented!

What a clever idea. We don’t have children, so whenever I see something like this I wonder how anyone lived without one when we were growing up!

Carseat covers are important for babies to be protected from rash and insect attack. I like the green color and it’s simple design.

Little ones don’t know to swat away bugs, so this is awesome. It would hurt my heart to see them get bites!
