Party Planning Tips for The Little Gym

CupcakeLil’ C’s birthday party planning has begun, and I’m thinking that some of you have probably started trying to figure out what your children’s birthday parties will look like this year. Will you have an intimate party at home? Do you like hosting the party at a fun kid’s spot and avoiding clean-up? Maybe you do both, {if so then wowzers!!}

In the B family, we’ve done a little bit of both, although often, a small party winds up being larger than expected. Much to my husband’s surprise though I’ve been able to get our guest lists down to around 8 children or so, which is good for me.

One of the most memorable birthday parties that we hosted was Miss A’s fourth birthday that we held at The Little Gym of Huntersville/Lake Norman. {Did you know that you don’t have to be a member or enrolled in classes at The Little Gym to host your party there???} Here are some posts from that party {so you can see why it was a blast.}

Little Gym Birthday Party

Instead of telling you the amazing reasons to book a party for your child at The Little Gym of Huntersville/Lake Norman, I figured I would give you tips for party planning at this very cool location.

Communicate – While most of the work is left to the amazing staff at The Little Gym, there are a few choices you will need to make when it comes to activities, cake, number of guests, and of course date selection. The more you communicate with TLG staff, the less stressful the party will be.

Party Food – This is one of the few aspects of the birthday party package that The Little Gym leaves in the hands of parents. Whether you want to order pizza or make your own, they are very flexible about what choice of food you’d like to offer your guests. It may be a good idea, {depending on what time your party is} to get a few small snacks for parents to munch on while the children enjoy the activities and then give children the main dish before cake.

To Theme or Not to Theme – With The Little Gym services, there’s no need to plan an elaborate theme for your party, after all, the main theme will be gymnastics and play. However, if you’re anything like me, you love a good party theme. For Miss A’s fourth birthday party we chose a rainbow theme, AND it went perfect with The Little Gym’s bright colors, THAT was a coincidence.

Room for Presents – Most parents who host a party at The Little Gym choose for their child to open presents in their own home. This allows more party time for everyone. When thinking about your child’s presents, as well as seating for everyone who’ll be traveling with you, that way you’re not struggling to make it all fit.

Plan Ahead – Just like any other venue, The Little Gym Birthday Party dates fill up quickly. If possible, try to plan your date 1 to 2 months prior depending on the time of year. If you’ve already told family and friends to save the date, call The Little Gym as soon as you have a date, better safe than sorry.

Are you ready to book your child’s birthday party at The Little Gym? At your convenience you can book your party online, email, or call The Little Gym to pick out your date, find out more about the services they provide, and get your party planning started.

  • Hi, My son will be turning 5 years old and I’m looking into nearby venues to hold his birthday party. He’s wanting a NASCAR/race theme. Two of the kids’ gyms in the Mooresville area are in process of closing. I’m not finding a lot of options nearby, and I’m wondering if anyone in the area has any recommendations? I toured the Little Gym in Huntersville (exit 23) and it was nice but a bit small. It’s still a possibility. I like the BounceU in N. Charlotte (exit 18) but we’ve just been to two back-to-back parties there and I’m hoping to do something different as a change of pace. It’s also pretty far south of us. I tried calling the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Mooresville to see if they rent meeting rooms and they do not have that as an option. I was thinking a tour of some race cars and cake/ice cream afterward would have been great. Thanks so much for any suggestions!

    • How many children are you looking to have at your son’s party? We had 13 at my daughter’s and there was plenty of room for more kiddos (I’m not sure what the biggest class size is but I’ve seen a good bit of children in the gym at one time with several instructors.) Also, for race theme, have you checked out Concord Mills? They have a race track, arcade, and games for children, or also Sports Connection, with arcade, bounce houses, sports and more. Best of luck planning your party! Hope some of my tips can help in any venue you go to.
