My Medifast Progress – Week 13 #journey33

March 10, 2013 8 Comments »

Welcome to week 13 of #Journey33. If you haven’t been following along, the day after I turned 33 I decided that this year I am reclaiming my health in so many ways, one of which is getting my weight down and being healthier about the choices I make when it comes to my body.

My first Medifast goal is to hit 33lbs, last week I surpassed that goal and was down 17lbs, woo hoo!!! This week I hit another milestone. One of the many reasons I started searching for weight loss options was that my clothes in my closet were the biggest I have worn and even so were very tight. I wasn’t about to buy another size up and knew that it was time for a change. This week, I am proud to say that I have gone from my size 12/14 tight clothes, into a comfortable fitting size 8 (same brand of pants). I also notice in my tops and undergarments, but it was so awesome to be able to put them back on. I know for me, I have a long way to go, but inside I’m saying, “I’m doing it, and I deserve this.”

Did you have any awesome milestones this week, whether they are health related or not I’d love to hear them and celebrate with you.

This week too, I had a restaurant review and went out to dinner with a few friends. My amazing dietician (you get one too when you enroll in Medifast’s program) gave me some tips for dining out. Some of them I already knew and others I’m working on implementing  One thing I’d really like to start doing because I have the must-eat-everything-on-my-plate mentality is either to get a to-go box right away or have the kitchen divide my meal in half when portions are as big as my 2 year old. :) Know what I mean???

· Get food “naked”—without sauces, dressings, or toppings. Get those on the side.

· Stick with broth based soups

· Choose marinara, olive oil, or tomato-based sauces

· Keep portion sizes in check

· Ask for a to-go container to avoid eating after you are already full

· Share entrees, appetizers and desserts

· Focus on companionship and conversation rather than food

· Put your utensils down between bits

· Have your plate cleared as soon as you are done

Here are this week’s stats:

Weight Prior to Medifast: 168.5 lbs Weight
Lost This Week: – 1.5 lbs {starting this week at 151.5 lbs}
Weight Lost on Medifast: -18.5 lbs
Current weight: 150 lbs
My First Goal: -33 lbs/135.5 lbs {since I’m 33, I thought that was appropriate}
My Final Goal: -16.5 lbs/119 lbs {half of 33}

Energy: More tired this week, staying up later though. Pant size: 8 (short of course)!!!
