My Belated Medifast Progress – Week 14 #journey33

March 19, 2013 4 Comments »

Ever have one of those, days, weeks, months, years *LOL* that you just feel like you’re not quite 100% in anything? That was me last week, my 14th week of Medifast. For some reason I couldn’t shake the funk. I didn’t care what I was eating, I wasn’t reading the Bible as much as I wanted or should have been, I missed some events because of the funk and other petty issues at home. Just not a great week for me.

Now as I reflect on my week I’m thinking, “what’s wrong with you?!?” I realize there were so many good spots in my week that I was too busy complaining in my heart and head to notice. For my own sake I’m going to write them here so I can learn from this.

I placed my worries about Miss A’s first sleep over into God’s hands, even being the worrier that I am.

I got to play on the playground on a beautiful day with Lil C and DaddyB.

Even though they may not add up to all my issues and frustrations from last week and may not even be directly related to Medifast, these are all periods of life that we each go through, and if you don’t have “funky moments” I need to chat with you and get some advice!!!

I decided last week not to weigh in at all because at that point I think it would have just encouraged me to quit altogether and I wasn’t having that, so I guess that’s good at least. So I hope you’ll give me a pass, everyone needs a little grace once and a while right??

My biggest issues this time around with my weight loss are:

  • Figuring out what lean and green I want to eat without always eating grilled chicken and salad
  • Finding someone who I can be accountable to and who encourages me
  • Having enough willpower and caring about myself enough to change my bad habits and make good choices
  • Having the energy, between not drinking coffee, allergies, and bouts of the sickies I’ve been drained

But, life goes on, and I really do want to be a healthier person inside and out in my 33rd year of life, I deserve it. I just need to dive into finding recipes, chatting with people who are like-minded, being in my Bible and hearing what God has to say about me rather than what my thoughts say about me, and being reminded of good and bad (anything) that I can put into my life and trying to fill it up with good.

So, thank you for letting me vent, sharing my failures and successes, and I hope if you are in a funk, no matter how long it has been, that you too will find inspiration, take hold of it, and fighting for what you want.

Here are a few pictures of where I have been and I would like to get back to and maybe even beyond (sorry for the blurryness in the second one):

What were your struggles this week???

We all get in a funk sometime, but that’s life. Glad you pulled yourself out of it, just keeping trusting in the Lord and EVERYTHING will work itself out!

By the way, you look FABULOUS!! :-D

Have you seen the blog http://www.sandyskitchenadventures.com? She has some great recipes to avoid the same old same old for the lean and green. I’ve been on medifast for 7 months, lost 82 lbs and get a lot of my recipes from this site. My husband enjoys most of them too. Rosita

      Hi Rosita,
Thanks for the reminder, I hear a lot about Sandy’s site and just need to get on there, make my shopping lists and meal plans. We made the cauliflower breadsticks and my entire family loved them.

That is so hard when you get in a funk and just can’t snap out of it, we all have those moments and I find they come when i am not making sure I ma properly taken care of as in enough sleep, time to pray/reflect and just downtime with my family that is not structured or schedule the crazy day to day can drive us all down! That was very insightful of you to skip weigh in so you stay motivated, you will be great this week I KNOW it!
