“Moms Mean More” Concord Mills Event {Giveaway}

Maureen Oboyle Jennifer BullockThis weekend Concord Mills hosted their, “Moms Mean More” fashion show, hosted by WBTV’s Maureen O’Boyle. Not only did this fashion show feature clothing available for purchase at several of the outlet’s stores, but through the event they were also able to promote Dress for Success, a local charity helping women get into the workforce, and honor two deserving moms: Fridonna Shepard-Steele – A graduate of Dress for Success Charlotte and Anita Dean Arnette – Moms Mean More online essay contest winner.

The fashion show showcased looks from several of the mall’s stores including, Brooks Brothers Factory Store, Banana Republic Factory Store, maurices, Kasper/Jones NY Outlet, The Children’s Place Outlet, Aerosoles, Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th, Old Navy, VF Outlet, P.S. by Aeropostale, and Tommy Bahama Outlet.

I had the pleasure of speaking with some of the representatives from a few stores and learning more about the brands and what they represent. In some exciting news Brooks Brothers‘ clothing will be featured in The Great Gatsby movie remake, and the store also sells clothing for women as well. Shocking, I know!

Since bermuda shorts are in for this season’s fashion trends, Tommy Bahama was an obvious choice for the fashion show. Not only were we transported to island life when we walked into the store, but the fabric choices and styles were very in line with the mission of the original owners. I fell in love with some of the looks and may have to go back and grab some dresses and tanks for my upcoming trips for Social Media Moms #jerseylove and Myrtle Beach.

During the fashion show my favorite piece was from Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th and was a beautiful linen dress with a matching hat. The model wore the look fabulously and it looked not only great for the spring/summer, but also expensive yet comfortable.

The models were great, I definitely had my favorites and was only able to capture a few in my videos because of their stopping points. The male models were hilarious, and the crowd finally started getting “into” the fashion show when the adorable children came out to show their looks. Here are some of my favorite clips from the show:

I loved the look that was featured from Old Navy with an adult female model and a little girl who were wearing matching outfits. I wished there were more sets like this featured, especially since it was a Mother’s Day event and I of course am biased as a mom.

Several of the stores that were featured in the fashion show have outlet prices every day on their items, but also have additional savings for the Mother’s Day holiday. Make sure you stop by Concord Mills between now and Mother’s Day to find a special mom in your life something she’ll really love, at a great price too!
