When I attended the Type-A Mom Conference Little Debbie was one of the featured sponsors. Unfortunately, with all the running around I only got to grab a pumpkin mini muffin to snack on, (and one for Little Miss A too). After my whining on Twitter, somehow Little Debbie caught wind and were nice enough to send me some yummy samples of their Petites Strawberry Cake, Petites Spice Cake, and their seasonal Peppermint Swiss Rolls. So here are my thoughts on their new snacks:
The Petites Strawberry Cake were very moist. I love the strawberry taste too but wasn’t too hot about the buttercream frosting on top. I love that these little guys come individually wrapped and are mini-snacks to satisfy your sweet tooth but not rot it.
The Petites Spice Cake were also very moist. Unfortunately, I am not a huge Spice Cake or even Carrot Cake fan (sorry to those of you who are,) but my husband and his co-workers said they were really tasty. They didn’t last long in the employee lounge. In the Petites line, each box contains 6 cakes so you can savor or share with your friends.
Lastly, I tried on of Little Debbie’s seasonal treats, their Peppermint Swiss Rolls. Typically, I like my Swiss Rolls straight out of the box, room temperature. However, when I tried the famous treats I was overtaken by the minty flavor and really bummed out. In an effort to preserve them I placed them in the fridge so DaddyB could also take these to work, but had a late night chocolate craving and no chocolate to be found in the house. So, I begrudgingly reached for a refrigerated Peppermint Swiss Roll and much to my delight they were delicious.
I should have figured since I also like my Thin Mint Girlscout Cookies frozen or at least cold that these peppermint siblings would also require the same treatment. Thankfully with a little help from Frigidaire these Little Debbie snacks found a way to satisfy my taste buds. So, if you’ve tried the Peppermint Swiss Rolls at room temperature and like me, hated them then try again with a little chill thrown in there.
Thanks again to Little Debbie for providing me (hubby, and his coworkers) with some delicious new treats. I look forward to seeing what else they have rolling out of their factories.
