Disney On Ice Present: Worlds of Fantasy Interview

October 12, 2012 3 Comments »

I had the unique opportunity to interview one of the amazing talents of Disney on Ice Presents: Worlds of Fantasy live show here in Charlotte, NC. 19 year-old Elizabeth Parsons has been ice skating since she was three years old, after she was influenced by watching her bigger sister and professional ice skaters.

And now at the age of 19, it’s still one of the best things she’s done in her life. I fully enjoyed speaking with Elizabeth, aka “Liz”, because, even through the phone, I could feel the passion and joy she has for her craft. This job has afforded her the opportunity to visit countries across the globe with her ice family and still be able to work on her degree by taking online classes.

In the show, Disney on Ice Presents: Worlds of Fantasy, Liz is an Ensemble Skater who plays a seahorse, finale fairy and green army man. Liz says about the show,

“It’s a great show for boys and girls kids of all ages, with Tinkerbell coming into her own, Little Mermaid’s fun and exciting story, Cars 2 and of course the Toy Story 3 section there are so many characters that kids can identify with.”

Through this show, and the others that Liz has taken part in, she has been able to live her dream and  enjoy what she calls, “the perfect job.” Because she knows a lot about living her own passion she also encourages children to do the same,

“Just to go for it and work hard, and really follow your dreams and it will get you to amazing places and get you to amazing things.”

I encourage you to go watch Liz and her fellow cast mates as they entertain your entire family, and who knows, maybe you could have a future ice skater on your hands!

Enjoy the fantasy of Disney on Ice and make some fantastic memories! Are you headed to a Disney On Ice performance this year?

received complimentary tickets in order to review Disney On Ice Presents: Worlds of Fantasy. The above words and opinions in this post are my own and that of my interviewee.
