Et tu Hyland’s?? My all time favorite, most highly recommended teething pain releivers have jumped aboard the recall train. Why you ask?? As of Saturday, October 23rd, 2010 Hyland’s Teething Tablets made the recall list for several reasons, the main being that they contain a toxic ingredient called, “Belladonna” aka Deadly Nightshade. (Random fact: Belladonna was most likely William Shakespeare’s likely choice of drug for Juliet’s sleeping “potion.”)
Sound scary?? Well, it kind of is. Belladonna can be known to cause seizure, difficulty or slowed breathing, lethargy, sleepiness, muscle weakness, skin flushing, constipation, difficulty urinating, or even agitation. All in the name of removing redness and gum swelling, really?? Who’s the Smart Alec that though that would be okay? Surely I’d never give my daughters poison in return for relief from redness and swelling. Come on! Read More
I’m not one to press people on issues that I believe in and I don’t really consider myself as a controversial writer. And while I am opinionated, I don’t throw it down your throat. However, when something someone does is just wrong and it effects my family and friends – that’s when I feel I have to get involved.
Recently, I had a guest post on MommyBKnowsBest about the dangers of High Fructose Corn Syrup and the awful things that it can and does do to our bodies. Last month at the Type-A-Mom blogger’s conference the Corn Refiners Association launched their new name, “Corn Sugar”….. along with some blogger gifts, er bribes. Which I promptly threw out.
It’s great that the CRA (Corn Refiners Association) are giving HFCS (High Fructose Corn Syrup) another chance and changing the name so people won’t associate it with the bad rap that it’s gotten…or is it??? Read More
Conair™ has been one company that I have used for years and an affordable name that I know I can rely on. In fact, I think my old school, pepto pink crimping iron from the 80’s was Conair™ if that tells you anything…and that was
20 a lot of years ago, (we’ll just leave it at that). So needless to say Conair™ is a company that has stood the test of time.
Currently in my hair-senal I have the Conair™ 1 1/2″ Instant Ceramic Heat Iron/Straightener which has been my straightening buddy for a while. Recently I was able to try out the Conair™ 1875-Watt Salon-Performance AC Motor Styling Tool: Infiniti Pro by Conair™. Check it out:
Check out this creative point-of-view review by MommyB Knows Best’s newest guest blogger Danielle M and let me know what you think!
On your mark, get set … and we’re off, jogging – walking, rather – down the sidewalks of my small town, tunes from my iPod drifting out of the speakers of my Baby Trend Navigator Double Jogger Stroller. My boys, ages two and 3 months, and I are perfectly content in this roomy, two-seater stroller that offers a smooth ride. I get my exercise while they get a nice comfortable ride and a view of the world around them. Read More

Before I even gave birth to Miss A I received sample products in the mail from Lansinoh, a great company that focuses on real moms and providing products to meet their nursing needs.
I absolutely love Lansinoh’s Lanolin cream (nipp
le cream), milk storage bags, and their disposable nursing pads, and after trying out Lansinoh’s brand new Affinity, Double Electric Breast Pump I now love them even more. Read More
Chef, author, reality TV star, entrepreneur, mommy, and now workout buddy, Bethenny Frankel shows that no matter how busy you are you still have time to work out with her Body By Bethenny workout DVD.
Bethenny is joined by celebrity instructor Kristin McGee for this 40-minute yoga program. The purpose of the DVD is to stretch and strengthen your entire body following up with a 10-minute strength-training segment.
My thoughts on the introduction are that it is a sweet personal message from Bethenny; it’s a little scripted, but seems like her personality and own thoughts are behind it. She talks about how the workout is for everyone at every fitness stage, and that being a “Skinnygirl” isn’t about what size you are, it’s about feeling comfortable in your own skin. Read More
