At the start of every New Year, many people make resolutions to quit smoking, eat more healthful, save money and probably the most common resolution, to lose weight. I make the same resolution myself nearly every year!
One thing I know for sure that works every time and makes me feel great is: exercise. In general, I’m a “must go to the gym” kind of girl. I’m not very disciplined when working out at home with workout equipment, DVDs, or the N
intendo Wii. That doesn’t mean that I haven’t tried these methods – I’ve just found that for me to really focus on exercise, it’s best to be away from distractions at home. Read More
Today is not only my birthday, but also our Little Gym class day, and if I could choose any place to have my birthday party it would be The Little Gym of Huntersville/Lake Norman, but unfortunately they don’t have parties for adults. (Maybe we can work on this.) Luckily, one of our great friends was able to have her birthday party there yesterday, so we got to see what a Little Gym birthday party was all about.
I had a blast with my girls and their friends, we had a lot of great gym free-play, a few organized games, and some yummy food all in honor of little Miss S’s 3rd birthday! Read More
Are you one of the many people who are dreading the holidays because you don’t want to gain weight? I know I am trying not to think of the turkey that is going to go to my thighs, the pie that will stick to my booty, and the fixin’s that are going to weigh me down, but luckily I found this amazing, portable, handy food scale made by Perfect Portions.
Now the Perfect Portions food scale isn’t just for people who want to lose weight, it’s amazing for those who need to track daily values, sugars, fat grams for dietary needs, athletes who measure every gram of what’s going into their bodies, and even people like me who, in order to lose weight, need to count calories otherwise I just go overboard without even thinking about it. On your mark, get set … and we’re off, jogging – walking, rather – down the sidewalks of my small town, tunes from my iPod drifting out of the speakers of my Baby Trend Navigator Double Jogger Stroller. My boys, ages two and 3 months, and I are perfectly content in this roomy, two-seater stroller that offers a smooth ride. I get my exercise while they get a nice comfortable ride and a view of the world around them. Read More

Chef, author, reality TV star, entrepreneur, mommy, and now workout buddy, Bethenny Frankel shows that no matter how busy you are you still have time to work out with her Body By Bethenny workout DVD.
Bethenny is joined by celebrity instructor Kristin McGee for this 40-minute yoga program. The purpose of the DVD is to stretch and strengthen your entire body following up with a 10-minute strength-training segment.
My thoughts on the introduction are that it is a sweet personal message from Bethenny; it’s a little scripted, but seems like her personality and own thoughts are behind it. She talks about how the workout is for everyone at every fitness stage, and that being a “Skinnygirl” isn’t about what size you are, it’s about feeling comfortable in your own skin. Read More
