Mitsubishi Motors’ “First Ride” Event Video

This is a sponsored post in an effort to showcase car seat safety initiatives highlighted in the video below.

Three New York City newborns will be making their first ride home in one of America’s safest cars as part of Mitsubishi Motors’ “First Ride” event. The program focuses on creating awareness and educating parents on child safety.

Instead of making the journey home through the streets of New York City in a taxi – an experience that does not legally require a car seat – the parents participating in Mitsubishi Motors’ “First Ride” event opted for a ride home from the hospital with their new bundles of joy in a fully-equipped 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander – an Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) highest-rated “Top Safety Pick+” vehicle piloted by professional drivers. Their touching personal stories have become a series of short web films that contrast the craziness of the streets of the big city, with the calm, precious moments shared between three newborns and their parents.

MommyBKnowsBest on: Changes #vlogmom

vlogmom-new-logoLately, I’ve really been thinking about life in general. Ooooh deep I know!! But seriously though, I’ve been meeting some great people, reading some awesome books, and really trying to figure out what I want to take away from this short life.

Here’s this week’s #vlogmom prompt/question and my answer:

I think sometimes we need to reflect, and see where our priorities are and if our time is being well-spent. In my life, I’ve been so blessed and want to make sure that I give to those less fortunate, raise my girls with love and enjoy as many moments as possible, be a good wife, be and have great friends, read my Bible and grow closer to God, be healthy inside and out and it starts with diet and exercise.

Some of these changes have been slowly happening and some I’m just getting started on, but I’m excited for good changes and have already had some great confirmations that this is the right direction for my life. I feel like whatever changes you have to make, whether they are similar to mine or completely opposite, we have to really make this life worth living.

I’m excited to use my blog to share whatever goodness is going on in life and will be giving you an update about my Red Cross service day soon too!

I hope if nothing else my video makes you think about what leaf or leaves you want to turn over and what changes you want to make in your life and inspire you to go for them!

Make sure you check out these other videos from #vlogmom vloggers too!!

MommyB presents: Graduate Advice – #Vlogmom

#vlogmomMiss A turned 6 years old on Saturday and will celebrate the last day of her Kindergarten year this Friday! As she graduates from Kindergarten I flash forward to her high school graduation day in 2025…what?!?! That sounds really far away, but I know it’ll be here before we know it.

I’m sure when she graduates I’ll have tons of advice for her and be praying non-stop for her guidance and direction for going out into the “real world”. In the meantime, I thought I would give some advice to those who are graduating now, nothing profound, and I’m sure just as when I was graduating, I waived away most tips, but hopefully some of this resonates if not now then maybe later.

Here’s my most recent vlog with #vlogmom (about a week later due to birthday party madness):

Tell me, what advice do you have for graduates??

#Vlogmom: MommyBKnowsBest on Broadway Musicals

#vlogmom Hooray, I’m back to vlogging!!! While I’ll admit it’s a rough reentry, I tried to have fun with this week’s #vlogmom prompt. I hope you enjoy it, and leave your responses in the comments so I can hear what you have to say about Broadway Musicals.

Thanks again Erin from for the prompt!!

Disney On Ice Charlotte – My Experience Opening Night

Last night, my family and I had a night to remember when we attended Disney On Ice Presents: Worlds of Fantasy. Glitter, fire {the good kind}, music, lights, bubbles, ice, and awesome Disney characters filled two-hours worth of amazing entertainment.

Disney On Ice Collage

I kept peeking over at my girls who were enthralled at the show, so much so that neither one of them moved an inch nor wanted to eat any of the yummy Time Warner Cable Arena snacks we purchased, and for my girls, that says a lot. Truth be told, I was pretty enamored too.

I wanted you to see and hear my completely honest thoughts so I made a quick video, enjoy!!

Yes I know I’m a little wacky, especially when it comes to parenting, I want my girls to have long-lasting memories of the time we were able to spend together and I know that this night will be one of them for sure. They talked about the best parts of the show, and who was their favorite character on the car ride home till they both fell asleep.

What’s one family event memory you know your kids will remember or one that you remember as a child??

I received complimentary tickets for my family to attend this event. That being said all the wacky, fun things I said are all my own personal thoughts {if you can’t tell already}. We’re all different though so you may disagree…{but I highly doubt it.}

#Vlogmom: How I Met Your Father

Better late than never, here I am posting my vlogmom video for this week. I had the video done earlier in the week, but no time to edit until today. I hope you’ve been enjoying my posts this week and I know, or at least you can humor me, that you’ll love this video too.

I brought out my silly side this week answering Alyssa from Clever Compass‘ question: How did you meet your husband??

Here’s my response:

I really love hearing about people’s, “How I met” stories, so I hope if you don’t video yourself you will at least leave a comment of how it all went down!!

Interview with Fresh Beat Band’s Marina – Shayna Rose & Elizabeth Shea – 2Carats – Part 3

It was not long ago that I had the chance to sit down and Skype with the amazing duo that 2Carats is. Both Elizabeth Shea and Shayna Rose prove to be talented, driven, and most of all amazing friends. In my previous interviews we talked about a number of different things. In Part 1, we talked about Elizabeth and Shayna’s musical roots: and in Part 2, we delved more into who 2Carats is and what they stand for and in this very last installment of my interview with 2Carats Band, I ask them some questions they haven’t been asked, and in some cases didn’t know about each other, and of course reveal, on camera the reason Shayna Rose left The Fresh Beat Band as cast member Marina.

Enjoy some candid questions, amazing advice, and get to know these ladies a little better.

I thoroughly enjoyed chatting with both Shayna Rose and Elizabeth Shea, and am excited to see what 2Carats comes out with, where they are headed, and how they’ll change the world, whether in a small or big way, I see great things for this duo!

If you missed it, check out my other interview segments with 2Carats here: and

Thanks again to Shayna and Liz for your time!!! Sending love and prayers your way!
