The Couponizer Review and Giveaway {CLOSED}

Yep, you guessed it, I’m one of those mommas or at least pretending to be one. A coupon lady. I’ve always had a small coupon book that I carried with me, but after hearing from friends that they walked out of grocery stores with hundreds of dollars in savings or that the store paid them after their shopping trip, I just couldn’t resist.

The only problem was that I didn’t know where to start. So I found The Couponizer and founder, wife, and mother, Amy Bergin and began my couponing ways. When I opened up my package I spread everything out so you can see what The Couponizer comes with. Here’s a picture of my Couponizer goodies: Read More

MommyB is for Bountiful Harvest

Today was our first Farmer’s Market visit and as I sit here eating McDonald’s, yes you heard right, not food from Old MacDonald’s farm, the kind of McDonald’s that has the fries that never decompose, I wonder where it all went wrong. I guess perhaps it all started this morning…I wasn’t feeling great and Daddy B let me sleep in with Baby C, we ended up getting up around 10:30, this is crazy late for me.

Now in a perfect world I’d get up at 10:30 and the whole family would be ready to head out the door by 11:00 right? Not with us, not only did I need to get myself around, I needed to feed Baby C, get her dressed, dress Little Miss A, and then, dum…dum…dum…Mis A’s hair….this is an entity in itself. Often times I find myself wondering why I prayed for daughters with curly hair, and I love the look when it’s all pretty and done up, but it sure does take some energy, time, and product! After all of us getting ready plus 30 minutes for two puffy piggies, we were finally out the door…at lunchtime?!?! Read More

Sand Gone Review

I love summer vacation, the “B” family and I just got back from a great vacation at Myrtle Beach. I know most of you will disagree with me but personally I’d rather spend my time at the pool rather than the beach. I’m not a huge nature person so the sand and salt water just aren’t my thing.

Unfortunately for me Little Miss A loves the beach, so I put on a happy smile and enjoy taking her, even though I know I can expect sand coming out of my ears for days. Or maybe not…with Sand Gone.

I found Sand Gone on another mommy blog and thought with my love *eye roll* of all things sand, that I should try it out. Tiffany Smith, creator of Sand Gone has two children of her own and was nice enough to send a sample my way.

Ball Canning Event

I’ve been invited to attend a great Charlotte event featuring the new Ball Canning Discovery Kit.  So far it looks pretty great. But I’ll be attending a luncheon to learn more about how it works and benefits. I’m hoping to find out a little more about family meals and maybe even preserving baby foods this way. Pretty cool huh?

In attendance will be several other local bloggers, retailers, consumers, and local press. The event also features Chef Keith Snow of PBS’ “Harvest Eating.” Chef Snow is a Carolina resident and touts wholesome eating. I’m very excited to meet him and learn some mommy tricks to bring back home to my family and yours. Check out his other site as well.

I’ll be posting all about my fun luncheon today very soon. I just hope Baby C is good for daddy while I’m gone.

Market Mommies Feature

marketmommiesI had the great pleasure of “meeting” Toni, the smart mommy behind the website through Twitter. is a great site where you can shop and support Mom owned and run businesses, I adore the concept and think it’s so important for us moms to support each other in our endeavors. I love the mommy love!

Toni is mom to 3 children, 2 boys 5 years old and 3 years old and a little one year old baby girl.  She worked in media/public relations and as a television news producer before children and  after quiting to stay at home with her son, she started to meet moms who were following their dreams of starting their own business. A number stay-at-home moms I’ve met are, “mompreneurs” (moms who are entrepreneurs,) or want to be one.

Most mom businesses thrive on word-of-mouth advertising, especially for the start-ups. It’s a great way to spread the word and it’s free advertising essentially. Plus, most of us moms will tell everyone we know if we love (or hate) a product. Toni mentioned that word-of-mouth, coming from her pr background, is one of the slowest forms of advertising. Esse Bags Guest Review

Esse BagsWe have another great guest blog post, meet, ELO on the GO! ELO is the wife to a handsome hubby and mom to a beautiful baby girl. Always on the go, ELO loves trying new things and seeing new places. Writing seems to be her thing, so watch out for her new blog, to be debuted late summer 2010.

Lately, I’ve been trying to shrink my footprint – not my actual footprint (but after pregnancy, that wouldn’t be bad either) but, my carbon footprint. I just thought it hasn’t been too becoming lately. So, I decided to head towards greener pastures, the ones with recycled plastics, sustainable resources and biodegradable what nots,. While on my search for all things green, I stumbled upon Esse’s reusable bags, and MommyB. The challenge was simple: try out the bags, and report back with my honest opinion. So with that in mind, here we go… Read More

Guest Blogger Cal-Daddy’s Top 10 for Fathers

happy-fathers-dayNow introducing our first daddy guest blogger, Cal Daddy!!  Cal Daddy is the father of a beautiful baby girl and husband to a loving and patient wife.  In his free time, he enjoys hosting friends, family, and good times at the family estate in the Pacific Northwest.  He has been blogging for five years on a variety of topics and is currently working on a book about ordinary people that we see every day.

Here are his: “Top 10 ‘Daddy’ Baby Items.”

This list is by no means comprehensive and certainly in no particular order – think of the order as changing with the mood of your baby.  Each of them is equally as valuable as the others.  Hopefully, these incredibly useful items can de-stress you, either through humor or use.  They have certainly helped me in my first adventure as a parent. Safety Innovations Review and Giveaway {CLOSED}

safe beginnings If you’re like me then one of the main concerns for your children focuses on safety. Now when it comes to going to the park and the pool this summer there are many “unknowns” that arise that require caution and being able to think on your feet, but I feel when it comes to my home that I need to prepare and be proactive.

From before Little Miss A was crawling Daddy B and I baby proofed our house. Now we didn’t go overboard, but we got the usual electricity plug covers, door knob covers and cabinet locks. You’d think after all that we’d be pretty covered, and we are, but as children grow they learn lots of fun things, like how to open the refrigerator and that if they can just open the bi-fold closet doors they can get to their dress-up clothing, well that’s when we decided to revisit the safety department.

Safe Beginnings offers a great line of child safety products, tips for parents on babyproofing, and family safety information. Read More
