Summer is here and one of the biggest perks to summer {in my opinion} are delicious bowls full of ice cream. Whether you’re having a sundae party, grabbing your favorite flavors at a theme park, or just enjoying a scoop with your kids after a fun day of play Blue Bunny’s ice cream treats will hit the spot.

It seems like every weekend we have another children’s birthday party to attend and I grew up having ice cream and cake at each party I attended. Just like peanut butter and jelly, they went together, and now they’re being reunited to create amazing combinations. But it’s not just any cake and ice cream blend. Two of the industry’s leading producers of ice cream and cake are going to blow you away.

Okay, are you ready? The four Blue Bunny premium flavors are:

Red Carpet Red Velvet Cake – Red velvet cake flavored ice cream swirled with cream cheese frosting flavored ice cream and red velvet cake pieces.

Chocolate Lovers Triple Chocolate Cake – Decadent chocolate ice cream served up with fudgy chocolate cake pieces and dressed in ribbons of thick, chocolate frosting.

I Do! I Do! Wedding Cake - Celebrate the marriage of sweet buttercream frosting ice cream and white cake pieces all wrapped up in delicate ribbons of raspberry sauce.

Strawberries are Forever Shortcake - The sweet taste of strawberry ice cream and real strawberries mixed with pound cake pieces and swirls of whipped cream frosting.

My thoughts: I am a HUGE choco-holic and really liked the Chocolate Lovers Triple Chocolate Cake. The cake bits were very chewy and reminded me more of brownies than cake. The frosting tastes just like buttercream frosting and is very sweet, which I love. You can tell that the ice cream itself is made with high quality products and not just “fillers”, it was not like ice milk, it was rich and creamy and I only needed a small bowl to satisfy my sweet tooth. However, if you don’t love chocolate then shame on you, no just kidding, actually I’d probably steer you towards one of the other 3 flavors, {plus that’d leave even more for me!}

Surprisingly, my favorite of the four flavors was the Strawberries are Forever Shortcake. I usually stick with a chocolate based ice cream, but loved everything about this delicious mixture of light and fluffy shortcake, creamy strawberry/whipped cream ice cream and real berries. It is PERFECT for summer, it’s one of the lighter flavors and sits well if you are out in the hot sun. I highly recommend this flavor and parents with little ones remember that some children are allergic to strawberries so, as with any new food be cautious and on the look out for allergic reactions.

Miss A helped me try out the Blue Bunny flavors, obviously I did not have to twist her arm. Her absolute favorite was the Red Carpet Red Velvet ice cream. She loved the bright red swirls, and said she loved the taste, not to mention she loved that she had a red tongue from eating it. Personally I didn’t love it, but that’s why Blue Bunny makes nearly 500 different flavors.

Lastly, the I Do! I Do! Wedding Cake flavor was probably my least favorite not because it’s not a great product but raspberry syrup can go one way or the other with me, I either love it or hate it and in this instance I didn’t love it. However, I have two friends that have mentioned that this is their favorite Blue Bunny flavor, so again, just goes to show you that there are different flavors for everyone out there.
