Birthday Bash – Choosing a Theme

Coming up with a party theme can be trying, especially when you’re looking for the perfect theme for a one-year-old’s party. I don’t know too may one-year-old’s asking their parents for a specific theme for their party, so, it’s left up to good old mom and dad, (and in most cases mom).

More often than not the themes are the number 1 with fun girlie or boyish accents. I love themes for parties, in fact Miss A’s parties have been {in this order}: Bunny party {after her lovey}, Dora/Diego party {she LOVED both of them}, and her last party was a tea-party.

When it came to Baby C I had no clue where to start, so I stumbled upon 1stwishes.com and started browsing through their 1st birthday party supplies.

Things to keep in mind when looking for a party theme in general are:

  • Find something that the child has requested or really likes
  • Pick 1 to 3 colors and create a party from those colors
  • Choose a theme that is attendee friendly (if you’ll have both genders keep this in mind)
  • Consider the location, outdoor, indoor, at a party venue
  • Be proactive and purchase items on sale for the next yearLook Whoo's One Party

Fortunately, after looking for only a little while I found the perfect theme for Baby C’s first birthday. We fell in love with, “Look Whoo’s 1” theme. I loved the adorable girl owls so for the party we bought a few items, dessert plates, mylar balloons, and 2 small stuffed owls.

Along with the “Look Whoo’s 1” theme I decided to compliment the theme with Neapolitan colors, white, pink, and brown. That way I could purchase colored items that were a little more cost efficient and not have overkill with the theme.

Take a look at the cute, “Look Whoo’s 1” items we picked up:
